Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Very good bounce back inning by Winder, and a great play by Royce
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 This Jackson guy seems to have a very odd delievery
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 This fella’s strike zone is a bit inconsistent, to say the least

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Tricksy TD, not loading the new page when i submitted the form, just so i'd double post!?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Rocco must not have ever played with fire a kid, as we all did. He’s making up for it now as an adult
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Not sure I get sending Winder back out for the 7th. He was clearly battling it all night long and had a chance to end his outing on a high note with a 1-2-3 inning.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Rocco it's ok to take a guy out before he coughs the game up.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Literally no reason for winder to still be in the game and no reason to have a quiet bullpen
cheeseheadgophfan Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Is Rocco taking a nap? Winder is cooked!!!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 No bueno. Had a chance to win this one, and are now probably going to lose by multiple runs. Oh well. Have to win tomorrow with Gray on the mound, and take the season series 5-1 against Oakland, which is more than acceptable

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Well, i guess it is surmountin't time again.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Feel like the Twins sort of punted on this game. I think the plan was to have Bundy throw 3 or 4 innings, and Winder the rest no matter what was happening in the game.

It’s all part of that “it’s a long season” motto
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 No reason to give this game away with an off day on Thursday.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Really poor outing from Winder. Clearly didn't have his best stuff, and was fighting it all night long. However, he never should've been in the game in the 7th inning. This one is on the manager in my book. Interested to see if the plan is to use him as a long reliever for the time being, or if his next appearance is in the rotation.

Danchat Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Rocco's riding Winder as if he's going to be shown the door to AAA tomorrow... I don't get any of this. The bullpen's been good lately, just let them clean up in the 7th onward.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Wonder how many games the Yankees have said “ah the heck with it!” This year?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 How many hits does Winder have to give up to the freakin A's before Rocco pulls the damn plug? Inexcusable management. Completely gave this game away. Time for a TD writer to retract their article yesterday about Rocco pulling all the right strings.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Glad we punted the game so Thielbar only throws 15 pitches today instead of 25.

Rocco treated winder like it was the 4th inning of a blowout. “Just get us some outs” is something you generally don’t say in the 7th inning of a close game
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 So we are down to scoring more runs than outs time. This is real surmountin' time, once we come to bat.

Yeah... if Nick's going to cherry pick a game that Rocco managed well, it'd only be fair to pick a few where he didn't...
