glunn Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Lol, Orioles trying to cheat by messing with the lights during the AB. Be glad that they don't have a HVAC system.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Perk!....Perk!....Perk!...Perk!....
ShaeTwins Provisional Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 It's up to Perk now...let's go Twins! Get that "save"
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Put Mastro in RF (or LF) this inning for his defense?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Put Mastro in RF (or LF) this inning for his defense? No doubt... Good call.
ShaeTwins Provisional Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Great play by Escobar! Defense improving when it matters, anyway.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Es-co-BAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Great play by Escobar! Defense improving when it matters, anyway. They all matter but yeah... It feels better in the ninth.
ShaeTwins Provisional Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Another fantastic play! Win Twins win! By the way, Markakis due for an out here...
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Parmelee -- great catch -- but Mastro would have made it look easier.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 Amazing what a little time at one position can do for these guys. Chris isn't a statue in RF. He'll never be rangy but he's certainly serviceable.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Good job tonight bullpen, go Twins!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 5 games in... 5 games competitive. So far so good!
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Mastro is in left That's good news. I was watching Oriole feed and they did not mention it (or I was typing when they did). What a great win this was, and Parmelee got to be a hero.

big dog Verified Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Yeah, thrilled to have 3 wins and to have had chances in the other two games. Nice start. Parmalee made a nice sliding catch, and on the double in the 8th(?) he barehanded the ball and turned with a good throw. He's shown off a good arm, too. Win Twins!

Hard to know if he's making it look more spectacular because he's a bit slower out there, or if he's better than most of us thought. However, he has gotten the ball in quickly, made a nice play and doesn't look to have misjudged anything so far.

There was no reason to expect him to be a statue out there once he saw regular reps in RF (which he received off and on in the minors but never in 2012).

Not fast, but he catches what he gets to, throws okay and seems to read the ball well off the bat.

If he can play an infield position well, he qualifies as "somewhat athletic" in my book. He's not fast but he's not Willingham slow, either. I think he'll do okay out in right.
