Well, with two outs he was already around 2nd by the time the ball landed.

It was also a broken bat looper that hung in the air just long enough to get over the shortstop.

There was also a 3-2 count, so he was off with the pitch.

And...just wanted to point out the whole 4th inning Oriole rally started with a base hit ON AN 0-2 COUNT!

Hendriks does nothing for me. Nothing. Not much life on the fastball, breaking balls roll up there, even his changeup has almost zero movement. Don't see a good major league future for him. Hope I'm wrong.

"J Mauer grounded out to second."

Seems like that's happening a lot again.

Careful using "seems like". I did that last year and found out they actually keep track of those things.

CBS GameTracker: "Jones doubled to center, Markakis scored, Jones to third on center fielder Doumit fielding error."

So is Hicks catching?

Couple extra crow hops by Hicksee on the sac fly.

I'm a little disapointed that Hicks didn't run that Jones ball down. Just a little... But I'm very disapointed that Doumit didn't catch the throw to the plate.

D is Huge... Let's have some.

So who starts Sunday? Deduno?
I'm guessing Hernandez.

Yeah, looked like Hicksee got fooled a bit, but it was going to be a tough catch. I'm more disappointed it took him about three seconds to get rid of the ball on the sac fly. It was right on the edge of where a good throw might have gotten him, but his technique was poor and then he took an extra couple crow hops on top of it. The throw from Escobar was awesome, though, even if Doomsie flagged it.

It's only 4-4, even though it seems we should be down a dozen. Let's get some runs!

I think I remember that. One thing I would like to see on that is groupings. Are they spread out fairly evenly or do they come in clusters and then stop for a while? It seems like (there, I'm doing it again) when he's struggling he's hitting a lot of ground balls to 2nd, and when he's not, he hardly ever does.

Not getting a good grip will cause the extra hop... It would have taken one hell of a throw with Jones on third.

It's early in the year but all in all... I think the D has been in Spring training like thus far.

Plus the ball would have popped out of Doumit's glove.

It might seem like he grounds out a lot because of this :Joe Mauer Hates Pop-Ups - Blogs - Minnesota Twins News & Rumors Forum

Three straight pitches that scream "fly ball" to Escobar, but perhaps he struggles with the Englais.

I love walking the leadoff hitter.
