Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I was pulling for Lew Ford to make the roster. So, let's keep on the winning track today, we've got the mo.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Let's just hope the Twins don't make Arrieta look like an All-Star like they did in the opener last year. Good start so far, Twins. I really am pulling for Hendriks to figure it out this year. I think we have a pretty good idea of what the first three pitchers are going to give us this year, but Hendriks is the wild card in the rotation.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Won't have to face Chen or Gonzalez, that's a good start already
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Gardy virtually running out the same, opening day lineup 4 games straight. <<<knees getting wobbly>>>
ScottyB Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Glad to see Escobar get the start. Florimon already has 2 errors. He makes some spectacular plays and blows routine ones - lack of concentration, fine instinctive play.
DedunoTheMuffinMan? Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Hopefully we slaughter Tillman again tomorrow. We got seven runs off him in the first inning last year, and he didn't even finish the inning.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 After the walk off... Escobar deserves the start... After the throwing yips by Florimon... He deserves a day off.
chavez Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Calling a Morneau bomb today. A good game by Escobar today and Pedro will be feeling some pressure.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I'm calling another bomb from Plouffe.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 That was a really ugly AB by Hicks.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Arrieta with three straight 0-2 counts.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 The ump is flashing an (in)consistent zone thus far. Willingham gets a ball and then a strike on identical pitches.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Well Arrieta looks sharp....gulp.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 "Watching" via Gamecast on ESPN. It looks as though Mauer put up a good battle.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I can't remember, does Hendriks have a slider?
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I don't get it. You are given a strike call on a 2 seamer off the plate and come back with a 4 seam right down the middle. Locate.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I can't remember, does Hendriks have a slider? No, surely we would have seen it by now.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 No, surely we would have seen it by now. Thanks.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 These day games are making it hard to get my work done.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Protect those thumbs, Trevor!
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Listening to the Os broadcast: Blamed Plouffe for crowding the plate, that the pitch was "barely off the plate." Interesting. I saw the ball inside the batters box or on the chalk at least.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Damn. Pretty good AB by Parmelee but then... GIDP.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Listening to the Os broadcast: Blamed Plouffe for crowding the plate, that the pitch was "barely off the plate." Interesting. I saw the ball inside the batters box or on the chalk at least. You mean we're not the only team with home-town announcers?
fairweather Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I can't remember, does Hendriks have a slider? Yes but he really shouldn't use it.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 It's a crapshoot, what this home plate ump is going to call.
