  1. As much as I hate to participate in the comment section of a website that practices censorship I guess I can't resist at this moment. I remember reading a piece about Meyers prior to his shoulder problems. The piece talked about his height and the fact that he has kind of a 3/4 arm slot. Then it talked about how the Twins were trying to "tweek" his delivery to create "downward plain". They were talking specifically about shortening his stride and changing his arm slot ever so slightly. My question is could those changes have led to him straining muscles in his shoulder that were previously used less with his old mechanics? Furthermore, why do the Twins feel every pitcher has to throw a sinker? This obsession with downward plain to me is like the obsession with hitting the ball the other way. Just because that works good in many cases for marginally talented players doesn't mean you should force the supremely talented players to conform to these ridiculous idea's about the 1 right way to do things. The Twins Way lol
  2. There will be plenty of playing time and AB's for Parmalee after Morneau and/or Willingham is traded. I think Parmalee has a bright future. I might be the only one but I stand by it.
  3. Watching Gibson he reminds me of a young Kris Benson. Now we all hope he has a better, healthier, more successful career than Benson, but that's who he reminds me of.
  4. I've been saying it and will continue to say that Buxton is the best "prospect" I've seen since Griffey JR. He reminds me of a young Bonds that hits right handed. He might even be better than Bonds was at this age. He certainly is faster, hits for more average, plays better defense, and has a much better attitude.
  5. Diamond, Pelfrey, and Walters should ALL be replaced in the rotation. These guys could be replaced by pitching machines and no one would notice. The league is hitting over .320 against these 3 guys! I challenge you to find ANY other MLB team with 3 guys giving up this many hits in their starting rotation. Worley isn't any better. Let us see Albers. Heck if he can put together a few good starts in AAA let us see Darnell. We don't want to see anymore Worley or Hendriks or any other RHP that throw 80% of their pitches the same speed and to the same location. PLEASE
  6. I would hate to see him go but if they could get an excessive return......
  7. Diamond's "problem" has already been pointed out previously this week. I don't remember who wrote the article but it was on this site recently. The gist of the problem being that last year the league hit around .230 off Diamonds curve and now are hitting around .320 off that pitch. You really need to be able to use that secondary pitch effectively to get through lineups the 2nd 3rd and maybe 4th times. Same as EVERY Twins starter not named Deduno, Diamond has no legit second offering. I personally hope I never see Worley back in the bigs with the Twins for that very reason. I'm always reminded of Blackburn.
  8. Perkins and Balfour definitely deserve it but that means little or nothing.
  9. The twins have no choice but to try and package Morneau and move him. No one is going to take him on alone considering his salary. Likely they will get stuck with him and claim loyalty.
  10. I did say that people would be pleasantly surprised by Thomas if for no other reason then expectation were garnered from the worst of the smallest of sample sizes last season.
  11. Totally understand your point but you cannot jeopardize the integrity of the sport. Furthermore, baseball of all sports is the one in which draft position means the least. Grey may well indeed reach the majors hastily and he may well throw 100 MPH but those same things could be said about Joba Chamberlain just a few years back. Baseball careers more than any other team sports are a marathon. Lasting every possible mile you can is well worth your time. Developing baseball 1st round draft picks is like blooming potential prize winning orchids there's potential to be great but the small intricacies that separate the great from the really good often emerge unexpected and ruin plans long in the works.
  12. Mauer is one of those guy7s that will have a higher BABIP then most guys because he almost always hits the ball square.
  13. Yup he's a douche. I recently met a BEAUTIFUL young woman that had dated Jeter when she lived in NY. She didn't have anything nice to say about the guy and I'm not going to get into details, but Jeter isn't as clean cut as he would have you believe.
  14. Obviously my previous post was facetious, but I really get sick of hearing about Mauer's career BA. The guy is big and strong he should be hitting for more power. Remember 09? Where did that go?
