On the plus side, 5 homers, including a tape-measure shot from Sano. Had our pitching been a little less hapless...

Max is not looking good right now, and it's not for lack of effort. Three more KOs while hitting cleanup.

Saturday morning cartoons have gone the way of the dodo. Now cartoons are an on demand thing you can watch late into the night, rather than something to trick you into doing the poor richard's almanack thing of getting up early even when you don't have to. And to get you to want to buy cheaply constructed plastic toys which may have tortured you long term by fostering unrealistic expectations. No matter how hard i try, i won't be able to turn into a car like an autobot.

Er... sorry. I just started typing and it all came out.

Anyway, enjoy the Twins game, even if you slept in a bit!

Hot Wheels. Now with Supercharger!

We've got ourselves a shortstop. Bang bang. Quick release. I think Jorge and Simmons are going to be a terrific duo.

Not an impressive throw from our second baseman, when trying to double up a fast batter-runner. But yes, a super pivot made up for it, by an eyelash.

Interesting approach today: 7 innings, 7 relief pitchers, an inning each. Several have looked good. No one has stood out, although I'm only half-watching. Maybe Stashak. Colome gave up a hit but struck out the side.

So they scored on one of our relievers, and we ain't returned the favor?

Fair enough...

"single on soft grounder to the catcher" sigh. I would be happier if they bunted for a hit, but oh well.

My sister-in-law is at the game. She says the shrill whistler heard on the telecast is right in front of her. I've asked her to bop him on the head with a bat. If you're watching and notice the whistling stop, you'll know what happened.

Bats still in hibernation, apparently. Very quiet. Only noise being made today is by that **** whistler.

Gameday is still stuck with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th.

Gameday operator cut out early to avoid the traffic? Two pop outs and a KO at our end, so the same ol' same ol'.

This game was for the benefit of management; they needed to see which relievers were making the cut. Cut-down day, I think.

How close to Haight and Ashbury were you? I lived at Haight and Clayton (a block away) in the early, ahem, '80s. Long time ago.

I lived for a time on a street called Ashbury. In the Twin Cities metro area, LOL. That is the derivation of the screen name.

I did live in the Bay Area a couple of times, but never on your street.
