A bunt attempt to break it up? Sogard might get one in his earhole tomorrow for that.

No. This is what the problem with the classic baseball thinking is. The Twins closest person to the 3rd baseline was Maeda, and then someone playing at the classic shortstop positioning. The game is 1-0. The Brewers need baserunners. If Sogard gets on via a bunt single, good for him. Way different story if Twins are up 8-0 right now.

all that is true but he still might get one in his ear hole tomorrow night...

I doubt it. Rocco doesn't strike me as a guy that believes in unwritten rules, and even if he did, that wasn't breaking one.

Twins finally getting some props on MLB Network tonight. Cliff Floyd was going off on how great Cruz has been (and replaying a segment from spring training), and Dan Plesac was loving the powder blues.

those guys know what's up....the rest of the world can't deny it forever.....we are here to STAY

I'd be surprised to see Maeda back out there for the 8th

I dunno, they should give it to him. Only 91 pitches, hasn't given up a hit... Maeda won't die if he goes over 100 pitches today.

Excited and pumped and you want history and you never want to pull a pitcher with a no-hitter...but...over 90 pitches and 2 innings to go and the short season...just have to think about pulling Maeda soon don't you???

I’m with Milldaddy. He’s thrown 80-85 pitches in his four games so far, so he’s already past that. If it was through eight, I’d let him go, but he’s almost certainly not going to get another 25 pitches to go through two more innings.

Maeda needs to finish this if he doesn't allow another baserunner, but I also don’t want another Johan Santana situation.... I’m conflicted

I know what you're saying, but 85 is the most he has thrown prior to this and it's a 1-0 game. If the score is 5+ to 0 you surely send him out, but that isn't the case here. I do think you probably see Maeda out to start the inning, but one Duffey/May/Romo will be ready as soon as we see a baserunner

With the game at 1-0, I could see another inning because of the game situation and how well he’s dealing. If they get a couple here, I definitely go to the pen.
