I think a couple AAA minor league deals for veterans will come......and nothing else.

I know a lot of people think they can just trade for pitchers at the deadline, but they passed on that opportunity last deadline. And, not many great starters are actually dealt every deadline. 2-4 at most. I'm not sure it is a slam dunk they'll do so if they need to.

Right now they are set up for 90-94 wins, I'd think. 95 is the tough spot for the O/U for me. If Buxton is healthy and the young pitchers don't implode, I like the over. If Berrios or Odo gets hurt, or if the young guys aren't good, I like the under.......

The starting pitching is high variance right now....

My guess is 92-95 wins takes the division. That's good. It should be an exciting season.

How badly would it suck to have Donaldson blow out his knee in April? You can worry about future injuries for virtually every player in every sport.

I concur

Would add that a JD injury would be far easier to fix than an acquired SP going down

Kirilloff to 1B Sano to 3B and we balance the lineup L/R/S

I'm curious how teams will use the 26th spot. Will it be the best 26 players, or will it benefit role players like defensive or speed specialists? The LOOGY rule seems to mean it won't be for a specialist pitcher.

So true.  Ask the Golden State Warriors how that's going.

Oops. That’s dollars over many years. Hopefully, the in-house guys can cut it. If they don’t, then Pineda will be there in Mid-May, and Rich Hill in mid-season. If the Twins are in 1rst or contending, there will be additional options as the trade deadline gets close. So. Stay put.

What is the story on the tendon in Cruz's wrist? The ruptured extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) tendon. I guess it is still not a problem, eh? I haven't heard anything.

I read he was going to skip surgery and just play with it. Post surgery rehab would take too long. Your right though there is nothing in the news since then.

Good to know.

Have Cleveland and Chicago been informed?

How does this work? Do we still go through with the formality of the regular season?

We'll play about a dozen exhibition games with them, just to keep everyone sharp for the playoffs!

The only aces available were Cole and Strassburg. Those didn't happen. LAD and Buehler - not happening ... and so on. We all wanted pitching. Time to move on and look for a trade in the summer when one or more teams are ready to change directions or see a trade as beneficial.

The Twins look really good on paper right now and their ability to improve also looks good.

A little patience is warranted. I don't expect the Twins to win 102 games again, but i believe they are a better team and they will win the division. It is a long season and it all starts with optimism.

Paper and the real world are 2 different things. You need to get out from behind your desk and experience the real thing.

Would it suck more if Garritt Cole blew out his knee. HEE HEE, not for us!

Still need some low risk ... high reward type pitcher.

Should be able to land one of ...

Taijuan Walker would be my 1st choice... 2 year deal... or ....one of.....

Jhoulys Chacin, Matt Harvey, Jeremy Hellickson, Shelby Miller, Andrew Cashner... 1 year deal.... if possible minor league deal....

Then I would sign Aaron Sanchez to a two year deal like Pineda... insurance... low risk ... high possible reward...
