These games are NOT meaningless for the young Twins' players that get to play MLB games. It may be like spring training, but they want to perform. It may not be so great for the MLB home run record. The Yankees would seem to have more motivation, as they want to stay ahead of the Dodgers for possible home field advantage in the World Series.

Is it just the camera? Or does Astudillo look like he has gained another 20 pounds since the start of the season?

Twins also need 27 runs these final four games to have the highest runs per game average in franchise history (1936 Senators).  Guessing they come up short but could still have one more double digit game left.

Nice inning.  Not impressed by Schoop grounding out on the first pitch from a new reliever.  I hate when guys swing at that first pitch.  Except when Hrbek hit the grand slam off Ken Daly in 1987.  Then I liked it.

I could be mistaken, but this might be the first time the Twins have started a left handed throwing first baseman since David Ortiz. Kepler played a few games, but never started.

The “regular” or semi regular first basemen since Ortiz were Mientkiewicz, LeCroy, Morneau, Cuddyer, Mauer, Sano and now Cron. All right handed throwers.

I see they took Zimmerman out before his ERA could go over 7 on the year .... $52 mill to Miggy/Zimm .... Makes Mauer/Hughes seem like great value
