yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 If Araez only had enough plate appearances he'd be in the running for ROY. Darn it.There’s technically no requirement, but the lack of them does hurt his chances as voters will defer to the guys that have done it “all year”. Guerrero and Jimenez are probably frontrunners.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Pesky pole homer , probably a foul ball anywhere elseWhat does that mean? I simple do. not. know. Explain. Tell. Inform. I have my hand raised and I'm embarrassed.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 My other Ancestors were in the Lillehammer area of Norway. Training for the fish slapping competition. That guy on the left appears to be losing in a rout.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 If it wasn't for Mookie Betts... We would have won 4 games this series against Boston.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 What does that mean? I simple do. not. know. Explain. Tell. Inform. I have my hand raised and I'm embarrassed.Johnny Pesky was a beloved Red Sox player, and later coach. They name things after people like that. Oh, and leave it to Betts to be the one hitting that double.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I could have swore I said “have someone warming for Betts”...
wabene Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I could have swore I said “have someone warming for Betts”...Yes but next time through the order the way Martin looks
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Yes but next time through the order the way Martin looksRight now he looks like he’s about to lose this game.

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I'm not quite sure what the purpose of trying to pick off the runner at 2d was. Good grief.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Not a good look, with that failed pick off throw to second.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Ugly pickoff throw
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I know about Johny Pesky, but why has someone said twice that it would be fair in another park?foul, right hander hitting opposite field, ball most likely slicing
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I know about Johny Pesky, but why has someone said twice that it would be fair in another park? The ball hit the fair pole for a home run. In a more normally configured park, that pole would be many feet further, and the ball would have curved harmlessly foul. I didn't think anyone was saying it would be fair in another park. Cheap home run, we were saying.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 What does that mean? I simple do. not. know. Explain. Tell. Inform. I have my hand raised and I'm embarrassed. Umm... Fenway Park is oddly shaped because it had to be crammed into the space available to build in. They didn't have much space because Rhode Island isn't far away.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Pretty good job by Perez who is still looking for his 12 runs of support
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Nice work Mr Perez!! Indeed. He's working on a park-adjusted shutout.

The parent club doesn't want one of their guys winning a game in the International League by mistake.

gocgo Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Red Sox living off the double play again tonight...that runs out eventually.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Dear Rocco, I just received a notification from the official score keeper. You are over your quota for double play balls. Please inform the players. Sincerely, Riverbrian.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Trying for a third out, if I'm piecing together the evidence correctly. In a normal universe you are correct, but on a 0-2 count against a very, very good batter?
Dman Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Man Sano has to be bummed they are not pitching to him tonight. I guess with a game this close they don't want to risk it. So far we haven't made them pay for it so I guess walks it is. At least he isn't getting himself out. One of these times we have to make them pay, right?
