snepp Verified Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Done. You should probably advertise this in the forum as well to get additional eyes on it.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I moved this to the Twins forum so it will get more eyeballs. I just discovered that vBulletin doesn't have an option for global threads out of the box, which is a little face-palm worthy. Next time around, I'll be sure to install a plug-in that handles creating global threads that appear in every forum.

Seems like an odd option to pull considering it's been a staple of forum administration forever. Next time around, I'll be sure to install a plug-in that handles creating global threads that appear in every forum.Excellent. It would especially be nice for accessing the active game thread from any forum.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Yeah, I'll probably make use of it for game threads, as well. Something to add to the list. I can't believe vBulletin doesn't have it out of the box.
TiberTwins Verified Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Done! It was totally painless.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Wow!! that literally took 30 seconds to do. that was as easy as it gets.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Are you guys signed up with google anaylitics as well?
snepp Verified Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Are you guys signed up with google anaylitics as well? *checks NoScript settings* Yep, looks like it.
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 snepp is right. :-) That's how we track our page views, etc. Thanks again to everyone that take the time, however little, to fill this out. It's very important to potential partners, and is the kind of small thing that can really help the site reach more people.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Are you guys signed up with google anaylitics as well? Yep, but Analytics is pretty shoddy when it comes to demographics. They give you great information about location and technical specs of the user, but nothing about age/gender/etc. It's pretty obvious why they do it (Google has no idea who is actually sitting in front of the computer) but it's still lacking when we're trying to really dig into our target demos.
GCTF Verified Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 U.S. demographics? Buncha racists.

Steve Penz Verified Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Survey done. I hope to be cool enough one day that John will make reference to me when discussing the demographics.
COtwin Provisional Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Did I get the questions right?

Quantcast is pretty good and they are free, I'd suggest signing up with them as they seem to hit demos overall quite a bit better.
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 Did I get the questions right? No. But your answers were fine.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I really wanted to answer these questions but my hatred of the man refuses to let me do it.

I wasn't sure if he was referring to me, but then I realized that I MUST be the only baseball-watching Jim in Iowa, right?
DAM DC Twins Fans Provisional Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Done--yes less painful than a visit to the MD or DDS
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 No questions on my sexual orientation or my political identification? Pfft.
YourHouseIsMyHouse Provisional Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Took and please say no to "do you drink". The last thing I'd like to see is alcohol ads on here.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 No questions on my sexual orientation or my political identification? Pfft. I filled in that part for you. I flagged your IP address.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Good stuff (one little note, 'cause some people are kind of sensitive; and I promise I am not gonna start that discussion again :It's always a good ideal when have race questions to use the current official US descriptors of race and ethnicity. Those in the box in the bottom right of the link here)

jm3319 Provisional Member Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 No love for students on the poll? I had to lie and say I'm employed working 40+ hours a week. Professional school at 50-70 hours a week sure feels like work, except having to pay for it rather than get paid. Maybe I was supposed to say I'm unemployed, not looking for work but that to me is far different than being in school.
