rdehring Verified Member Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 This is the type of move a lot of us have thought should be made every year. Don't have a clue what type of prospect Schales is, but getting someone unlikely to be lost in the draft makes sense. Expect they thought there was a better than 50/50 chance Anderson was gone.
beckmt Verified Member Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Agree Twins are going to lose people. Might as well get something for a few of them.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Anderson is one of those aging minor league guys on the cusp. You can ask "should he get a shot with the Twins" instead of, say, Matt Magill. But, yes, better to get someone you don't have to protect for someone you have to protect who is further down the pecking order than you think.

luckylager Verified Member Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Seems like a steal for a solid 3rd base prospect. We needed one of those. https://www.fishstripes.com/2018/9/4/17817444/2018-marlins-top-prospects-minor-league-season-review-stats-highlights-brian-schales
Brandon Verified Member Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Watch Brian Schales get taken in the minor league section of the rule 5.
beckmt Verified Member Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 His minor league stats are good, but doubt any team will want to waste money to stash him. Just trading areas of need, or minor league infielders in the Twins case.
Doctor Wu Verified Member Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Yeah, like most everyone else that's posted, I endorse the move too. And having more minor league depth at third base seems like a good idea.
