TiberTwins Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I agree with this petition. Why was he not called up?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 But that supposes someone named "snepp" with a TMNT avatar, living in South Dakota, knows more than a ML front office. You're supposing they're perfect and don't make any mistakes. I knew more than they did about Jeff Gray, that's apparent. Slama will likely never amount to anything, but there's a problem with the process here. Dangit, I was supposed to have put in a :-) thing in my first post so you didn't view my post as a personal attack. Hope you didn't. Permaban coming in three... two... one...
powrwrap Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 For those who know when to call in, I urge you to do it. And if, in addition to signing the petition, anybody wants to e-mail Mr. Ryan directly with similar sentiments, do it. Or send them to someone else in the Twins' food chain. AND, some of us should e-mail Mackey, LEN3, etc. and ask them to press for an explanation. Attack the issue on all fronts. Mackey is talking about it right now on 1500ESPN.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Slama probably should have been called up, but he will get his chance next spring I suppose. I can't get too worked up over it.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Let's hope he is smart enough to move on this winter, I'm assuming he is a minor league free agent this winter. It doesn't appear he has been treated fairly by the Twins for a few years.
Musk21 Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Slama probably should have been called up, but he will get his chance next spring I suppose. I can't get too worked up over it. He won't get his chance here. As a minor league FA, it would be foolish for him to resign with the Twins. I don't understand why they wouldn't have just cut him if they had no intention of giving him an opportunity with the Twins.
twinslover Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Sign me up. I'm curious though, does the mlb site have Terry Ryan's email address as well?
TwinVike61 Provisional Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Sign me up. I'm curious though, does the mlb site have Terry Ryan's email address as well? From the drop-down menu: Roster: Front Office: terryryan@twinsbaseball.com Oh, and include me on the petition.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Just a reminder - we have about 22 hours left. The deadline is 2:00pm Wednesday. Sign up if this is a petition that interests you!
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 what happens at the deadline?
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I would hope Terry Ryan wouldn't make decisions based off of 30 signatures from a bunch of pissed off fans on a message board... good lord, this is quite embarrassing. Put me down as a no.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 what happens at the deadline? 2:00pm on Wednesday is the last chance to lend your name to this petition and the petition will then be sent to Terry Ryan.

bdhenders Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I'm in. Give Anthony Slama a fair shot and reward him for putting up numbers in AAA.

COtwin Provisional Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I don't think any of us would expect for changes to be made based on this. It's more about being heard and pointing out to the front office what many people's perception is of the situation. I would think that taking a chance to address a group of passionate and fairly well educated fans is a good way to keep people interested and supportive in a rough patch for the team. Understanding how/why certain decisions are made is not a huge thing to ask. And I think it is good business.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Slama probably should have been called up, but he will get his chance next spring I suppose. I can't get too worked up over it. Yes, let's trust the Twins to subjectively evaluate another player based on a couple of innings of spring training instead of two years of undeniable success in AAA. After all, the virtually scouting-only approach is working out great again this year, isn't it?

Twins Twerp Provisional Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 If he shaves the mustachio, I am in. If he does not, he can stay and room with Buxton when he gets to Rochester...(with the way we move prospects through our farm system, 2017 looks like a bit of a stretch).
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Hello LaBombo. Do you want to be on the petition? Sure, as long as no solicitors will call on me... Also, make sure your raft is shipshape if you're in the central Pacific. Rough weather ahead.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 Absolutely no solicitors. The raft is starting to show its wear and tear - let's hope for the best!
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Well, if they idea is to get Ryan to answer questions, it appears that ship has sailed. Shipley did a reasonable job but the answers are total B.S. (and I don't mean Bill Smith).
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 I guess the question we have to ask ourselves is this - do we still move forward with the petition? I would imagine if Ryan responded we'd get the same answers, but one never knows? I'm still game. Thoughts? If this is the end of this thread - I was impressed by the solidarity we have all shown.
Alex Verified Member Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I'm very curious to know if Anthony Slama is aware is something like 25 pages of forum threads on him over the course of the season! It's an impressive movement that may say more about how frustrated people are with the decision making of the organization and lack of trust in it in it.
johnnydakota Verified Member Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 please add me to your petition, and add when is this assclown ryan going to step down and let a true baseball man run this team?

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 please add me to your petition, and add when is this assclown ryan going to step down and let a true baseball man run this team?Didn't Ryan single handily build a team that won 6 division titles in 9 years? And pulled off the best trade of the past 25 years? How does that make him an assclown again?
