I like it.

[Bob Sacamento]

Boo!!! I don't like it one bit.

[Huddy]

Okay, but why another 33 year old backup catcher?

A rental and a 33 year old backup catcher...now that makes a lot of sense.

Well, Recker is a journeyman catcher so maybe we have a trade for Giminez or Garver lined up as well?

[KrnlDoug]

The Minnesota Twins have acquired LHP Jamie Garcia, catcher Anthony Recker, and cash consdiderations from the Braves in exchange for minor league RHP Huascar Ynoa. Press Release here(

Garcia has a record of 66-52 with a 3.65 ERA, but is 4-7 with a 4.30 ERA in 18 starts for the Braves.

Who knows how this will affect the rotation for now, but it will be interesting to see how this will play out for the remainder of the season.

Where do you all see him in the rotation? Do you think the Twins will continue to make moves before the deadline? What remaining needs do you think there are?

Boo!!! I don't like it one bit.

I really value your insights, so...  why don't you like it?  Because Garcia is a rental?  Ynoa is too high a price?  Would you have preferred Burdi instead of Ynoa?

NOTE:  I consider Recker as useful as a bag of scuffed up batting practice balls.

I like it. This is a move the twins should be making. Ynoa is years away from making the league, and even that is a question at this point. Recker makes you wonder, but the only reason i can see is if Garver is being moved?

[gunnarthor]

Ynoa was our #22 prospect per mlbpipeline and has an era over 5 in Elizabeth. He's 19. We signed him for 800k a few years ago. Seems like a fair trade to me.

Good trade. They desperately needed a legit arm, and Garcia is that. Solid #4 type.

In before thread consolidation.

As Spock would say, "Wanting, is sometimes better than having." We'll see.

Any chance he gets to hit another grand slam in Chavez Ravine?
