drock2190 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Mejia is listed, on the roster, as 6'3" / 195..... and Pressly as 6'3" / 210. If Mejia is 195, I am 165 again. That is one plump 195 at 6'3". Fangraphs has him at 195 too. Must be right then...
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Great hitting by Sano -- he focused on the solid contact that we needed, not on a home run Riverbrian 1
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Fangraphs has him at 195 too. Must be right then...If it's on the internet, it HAS to be true... glunn and Riverbrian 2
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Less than great base running there by Sano.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 Stop assigning some blame of the bullpen failures to the rotation Richard and Bert. Everyone knows one has nothing to do with the other :-) And Mauer hit another useless HR. Useless Home Runs are still more useful than this http://www.funnysigns.net/files/sign-not-in-use.jpg glunn, David HK, Hosken Bombo Disco and 3 others 6
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 ah, beautiful runningYeah, two base runners making mistakes, glad only one of them was tagged out. glunn and jimmer 2

jimmer Verified Member Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 So, wait a minute, Richard is blaming Sano's mistake on Kepler? glunn 1
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 So does baseball-reference...because the info is given by the teams...Maybe he was holding a lot of helium balloons when the team weighed him? jimmer and Riverbrian 2
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Less than great base running there by Sano.Right - it looked like Sano purposely got in a rundown between third and home so that Kepler could safely advance to second in his own rundown between first and second (and then Kepler almost gets thrown out between second and third, lol)
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 So, wait a minute, Richard is blaming Sano's mistake on Kepler? Kepler almost got thrown out because he was in no man's land.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 That was a great inning, but can we quit it with the baserunning mistakes? It seems like we've had one in each of the past 5 games or so. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 Yeah, two base runners making mistakes, glad only one of them was tagged out. A clear example of two wrongs don't make a right. Hosken Bombo Disco and glunn 2
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 (edited) Kepler almost got thrown out because he was in no man's land.no, he absolutely messed up too, but Sano's mistake is on Sano and no one else. You don't set yourself up to get thrown out at 3rd so a guy can get to 2nd. Edited July 4, 2017 by jimmer glunn 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 So does baseball-reference...because the info is given by the teams... I'm a legit 5-9 I've had conversations with actual college basketball players and looked them in the eye while holding a program that lists them as 6-1. Blake and glunn 2
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Right - it looked like Sano purposely got in a rundown between third and home so that Kepler could safely advance to second in his own rundown between first and second (and then Kepler almost gets thrown out between second and third, lol)I think Sano should not have strayed so far from third, and when he got caught then he tried to get Kepler time to advance. If Sano had stayed put then we could have had men at first and third.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 It's good to see Mejia make it through 7 innings for once. Let's hope he can keep this up and eat some more innings that the bullpen wouldn't have to account for. Riverbrian, Hosken Bombo Disco, David HK and 1 other 4
