Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Don't like the bunt here to be honest, but I don't hate it. I hate the inability to get it down wsnydes, Hosken Bombo Disco and Riverbrian 3
amjgt Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 ANOTHER failed sac bunt. We are 0-1000 this season Dozier's Glorious Hair and Riverbrian 2
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BUNT ANYMORE wsnydes 1
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 They chased Sale at least. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
amjgt Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 We are the most pathetic bunting team I have ever seen.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BUNT ANYMOREI was just thinking that too. The speedsters can't drag bunt and nobody can reliably sac bunt. Fundamentals gone array.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Jambi, the Twins need some damn runs. Help us out here. Meckaleckahighmeckahighnyho Hosken Bombo Disco, Riverbrian, ashbury and 3 others 6
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Author Posted June 27, 2017 Baseball Commissioner: Hey Derek... This is a courtesy call letting you know that the vote passed and starting next season the strike zone will be automated. Derek: NOOOO!!! You can do that!!! Baseball Commissioner: I'm not sure why you are concerned about It. Every pitch will be called correctly from here on out. We have the technology... this will be good for baseball. Derek: Hey... I just spent 24 million on a pitch framer. You can't do this now. Wait a couple of years if you don't mind. Blake and wsnydes 2
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I'll defend Polanco there, tough pitches to get a bunt down wsnydes, Hosken Bombo Disco and Dozier's Glorious Hair 3
David HK Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) OK, I want the Twinks to make a loser out of Sale now. Those 2 runners have to score. BoSox are in my triumvirate of hate- Yanks, and both Sox. And Sale is Sox squared, since he pitched for both of 'em. Edited June 27, 2017 by David HK PDX Twin and Riverbrian 2
David HK Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 (Sorry, just getting in)-- Are the Twinks just the absolute god-awfullest, moribund-arse team at bunting, or what? MLB'ers should be able to lay one down with a heck of a lot more efficiency that our team seems to. Get a guy on the ropes, and let him off with a lame bunt attempt. Sheesh. wsnydes 1
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I'll defend Polanco there, tough pitches to get a bunt downI agree, but it's not his or this teams first failure to get one down.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Failed bunt attempt ruined the entire inning. Never wise to attempt to bunt after a walk IMO
amjgt Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 That's how you lose ballgames, folks. Dozier's Glorious Hair and wsnydes 2
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 How about faking the bunt and having both runners steal. Both 3b and 1b are rushing in. Fast runner could probably beat ss to 3rd, no? mickeymental and Hosken Bombo Disco 2
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 That's how you lose ballgames, folks. And that is the key difference between legitimate contenders and the hangers on wsnydes 1

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 You had to bunt there. Polanco advances the runner, then the ground ball by Gimenez may have scored a run or at least doesn't end the inning. We were at the back end of the lineup and you have to try to small ball a run there. You didn't have to. First two guys reach, still two ABs in hand...why give up an out? Especially with a tough pitcher to bunt against
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Last year I was pretty loud about the lack of fundamentals on this team. They've improved in many of those areas this season, but the inability to get a bunt down when it's called for is still one of those things that drives me nuts.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 You didn't have to. First two guys reach, still two ABs in hand...why give up an out? Especially with a tough pitcher to bunt againstBecause you put the go ahead run in scoring position with at least two more chances to get them in and take the double play out of the equation. PDX Twin Verified Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Anyone taking odds on Berrios making it through the 7th? I Say 2-1 against. Agree, but don't like.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Boston trying to give an out and Jose can't oblige
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Who's warming up? Please say it's not Belisle or Breslow...I wasn't aware that Molitor knew he had other guys in the pen in a close game...
