Game Thread: Twins vs. Indians, 6/17 @ 1:10 and again at 7:10

The Indians aren't this much better than the Twins, but it's amazing how a team that's hot and one that's not can look like men against boys.

 

Indians are pretty good. Their relievers they throw out in blowouts would be our best reflief pitchers.

I'm not seeing a great team when I look at Cleveland. I'm seeing awful pitching by the Twins.

 

But the thought is still the same, the Indians are head and shoulders above the twins. They've clearly underachieved this year, but the talent disparity is obvious.

Well. In fairness, the season isn't 2 1/2 months long. I remember a certain MN football team that looked pretty good less than halfway through the season

Run differential is a good indicator. And it says the Twins aren't a 1st place team. 

 

xFIP says the Twins have the one of the worst staffs in the league. Stats don't lie. And two starters that are good but have overachieved to an extent says regression is on the way.

They're significantly better than the Twins.

 

The offense is better than it's given credit for. Brantley, Encarnacion, and Lindor are legit elite offensive players. Outside of Sano, the Twins aren't really in that class yet.

 

I think it's obvious that the pitching staff absolutely blows the Twins out of the water. They just called up two kids from AAA to spot start that double up 7 of the 9 starters the Twins have used this year in terms of talent. The Twins closer might only get mop up duty in their pen.

 

They're going to pull away from the Twins like they're tied to a post.

One thing I already like about Busenitz is how happy he looked in the bullpen. Very positive attitude. 

Contrast that with how Gibby looks on the mound at any time.  Especially when he's just given up a bucket of runs.  

 

 

 

Which is pretty much any time.
