NCtwinsfan Verified Member Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 In 2015, Brock had a thread tracking wins as a reminder of the rotten baseball we have watched in recent years, and compare where we stand in W/L compared to previous seasons. Let's see how 2017 plays out.Tracking is by number of games instead of dates because games by date/month varies from year to year. Twins current 2017 win total: 25Year – Number of games to reach 25 Wins2011 – 642012 – 602013 – 542014 – 522015 – 432016 – 762017 – 43Other notes:-Both 2015 and 2017 squads both needed 43 games to reach 25 wins (25-18). -At the 43 game point in 2015, the Twins were in the midst of a hot streak. They went 7-3 over their next 10 games and peaked at 32-21. After that, they cooled off and went 51-58 over the remainder of the season. I will try to update this at various points throughout the season

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Reaching the 25th win in other notable seasons: 1982 - game 83 (not a typo)1987 - game 481991 - game 502000 - game 54 (the last 90-loss season of the "1990s")2001 - game 35 (came out of nowhere to compete for division) 2002 - game 42 (first trip to postseason since '91) 2017 - game 43
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 2015 – 432016 – 762017 – 43Woof. That's a month and a half of additional play.
Whammy Verified Member Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 We could lose 36 in a row.... and have the same record as last year.

NCtwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 Update: Twins current 2017 win total: 34Year – Number of games to reach 34 Wins2011 – 792012 – 792013 – 722014 – 722015 – 622016 – 932017 – 63 Still pretty much on pace with 2015. However, it still feels like quite a different season for me. 2015 seemed to have more hot and cold stretches. 2017 seems to be more consistent. 2016 just doesn't seem to fit in this snapshot.Other thoughts?
NCtwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 Twins current 2017 win total: 58Year – Number of games to reach 58 Wins2011 – 1372012 – 1402013 – 1332014 – 1282015 – 1162016 – 161 (can someone check my math… that can’t be right…)2017 – 114
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 The Twins are tracking ahead of 2015? That's a surprise to me.
NCtwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 The Twins are tracking ahead of 2015? That's a surprise to me.The 2015 Twins went 7-3 over their next 10, and something like 17-10 after that before falling off a bit. So it will still be a challenge to keep pace. This point was basically the low point for 2015 - they were 7-18 leading up to win 58.
NCtwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 Twins current 2017 win total: 61Year – Number of games to reach 61 Wins2011 – 1592012 – 1482013 – 1372014 – 1392015 – 1222016 – NA2017 – 120I could not believe the jump the 2011 team made. It took 2011 team 22 games to go from 58 to 61 wins.
NCtwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 27, 2017 Author Posted August 27, 2017 Twins current 2017 win total: 67Year – Number of games to reach 67 Wins2011 – NA (63-99)2012 – NA (66-96)2013 – NA (66-96)2014 – 1572015 – 1302016 – NA (59-103)2017 – 130 Today, with 5 weeks to play, the 2017 team surpassed the 2012 and 2013 teams, leaving only 2014 and 2015.
CampQ Verified Member Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 If I put the over under for this year at 83.5, who will take the over?

snepp Verified Member Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Just 8 more wins and they eclipse my start of season guesstimate. And I'd love nothing more than to end up very, very wrong by the time the season is done.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 83-84 wins seems to be right on the mark, a couple more if some of their opponents throw in the towel.
