Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Birdwatcher and Hrbowski, close your eyes.... You don't want to read this. Our fancy new stadium is killing a bunch of birds since it was built. Bird loving volunteers conducted an 11 week study to find out exactly how many birds are losing their life because of the huge glass windows on the stadium. During the 11 week trial, they found 60 dead birds "The findings, along with reports from maintenance staff and security guards, estimate that perhaps as many as 500 birds die annually as a result of the building. Even if the actual number is half that estimate, it would still make the stadium the most lethal structure for birds anywhere in Minnesota."

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Dibs on any geese, ducks, turkeys or chickens.I'm sure they feel the same about you.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Dibs on any geese, ducks, turkeys or chickens.I'm not sure the Turkey's and Chickens have much to worry about, unless they somehow find their way into the stadium and manage to run really fast into the glass.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Dibs on any geese, ducks, turkeys or chickens. If they found a dead Loon, would they demolish the stadium that day?
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 In other news, ambulatory humans committing mass insect genocide with their feet, windshield casualties at all time high as well.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 This was predicted when it was built. Wait for migration season.....

Just wanted to make sure I had all the bases covered. Not sure if ostrich is any good.

Badsmerf Verified Member Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 It's funny. People slam wind turbines for killing birds (not a secret who that is). However, when it comes to football.... all is fair in love of football. I don't really care about 60 birds. Cats kill millions per year (to be fair, I could live without pet cats in this world... dogs too really).

And this is one of those hills.

I think I may have sampled some at one point. Oh, wait, no, that was emu. Never mind. But the killing bird issue ... isn't there something they can rig up that emits a sound that keeps birds away?

Otherwise it's time to raise some pre-super bowl pressure here.
