Yankees are said to be targeting power this offseason. Would Dozier be a solid centerpiece for a trade involving Gary Sanchez?

If I had to make a list of absolutely untradeable players across baseball, Gary Sanchez would be on it. Unless the Yankees are talking to the angels about Mike Trout, I don't see them trading Sanchez

"talking to the angels" - that's how mad they would have to be to consider trading Sanchez.

As over-hyped as Yankees catchers are, they would never trade Sanchez.

 

And neither would any other team.

There is zero reason to trade a cheap, young, excellent catcher for a 30+ 2B....I have been asking for the Twins to trade for Sanchez for like three years now.....no idea if he plays like this if he's here that long, but sigh.

He was the kind of player to target two or three years ago.  We're too late on that boat.

I think there is a better chance of the Twins getting Aaron Sanchez from Toronto for Dozier.

Heck I'd even throw in Ervin Santana to help Toronto fill the rotation if they are willing to chip in some prospects in the deal.

I'd definitely make the call, but the answer is quite likely no...

 

Problem with the Yankees and Dozier is that their best chips are all going to be in AA next year... Not that I wouldn't mind having Justus Sheffield in Minnesota, but that doesn't really solve the pitching problem we have right now.  The only right now piece that they have that fits would be Sanchez, and he's likely not on the block.
