Brock,

Is there a way to force these ads to stop loading if they exceed a certain amount of time. It seems that there are some that can crash just about any browser as they hang. It's not consistent, but I have more problems at TD than just about any site I visit.

There are still ads appearing over the reply box about half the time on my phone....I realize some of you may see that as a feature....

Get a screen shot and PM Brock with it or post it here. In the meantime, refresh the screen and it goes away; at least in my experience that's what's happened.

Ack!!! I'm getting political ads now ... for candidates I would never vote for ... ugh!!! So much for TD being a respite from all of that! :)

Getting treatment for your Major Depressive Disorder* is probably more important than making yet another comment on a website, don't you think? :)

* I'm making fun of the intrusiveness of the ad, not of anyone's serious condition**

** Sheesh

The ad makes you want to stop and think, hmm, do they know something that I don't?

The ads have been covering the comment bubble on mobile...

Out of curiosity, who’s your provider? I got the redirect one that was happening earlier in the week, but I haven’t had one like that in over a year or so. Would the provider even have anything to do with it?

I have Verizon. No idea if the provider has something to do with it or not. The ads covering the comment bubble started happening to me yesterday.

Yeah, not. I have Verizon, too.

My wife is convinced that just going to sports' sites guarantees I'll get ads for women. I wonder if that is part of the algorhythm?

And, that ad covering the mobile thing that Van posted? That's what I was too lazy to post....though I am nearly always on wifi, not the carrier.

So I went from some pretty fantastic russian singles ads, to shoe ads, in the span of a refresh.

Carole, stay away from my ads!

Getting tons of pop ups/redirects on my phone this morning.

Here are two. Surprised I haven’t gotten the Amazon one yet.

When I went to 'Full version' mode on my phone, that stopped them ... not sure why it would make a difference. But the 'full version' mode on the phone is really ... not the best. However, past instances of this, it affected the full version mode, too. But I'm on my home computer now, so ... not an issue at present.

Just found this thread after reading the latest minor league report. This may fall in the category of "don't complain about a free site," but I read the report on mobile and the ads are out of control. Between in-line ads and pop-ups there was almost never a moment when I didn't have one in my field of vision. At one point there was one pop-up on top of another pop-up. A pop-up appeared literally on top of this comment field as I was writing and I couldn't avoid tapping on it and getting redirected to a new ad page.

Again, maybe not appropriate to complain about this given that you all make so much available for free, but this experience with the ads is starting to push the bounds of usability.

@Brock Beauchamp, I've been getting ads now that pop up and cover the entire screen. Of course I can choose 'close' and I'm back to where I was, but it's really annoying. It's not just a pop up covering a portion of my screen, i.e. across the bottom, and then it goes away ... these pop ups cover the entire screen. the photo below shows an example. I clicked to go into a story in one of the forums, then this appeared. I guess it's not that big of a deal because I can click 'close' and it goes away, still ... intrusive. I've been getting these on all my devices ... desktop, tablet and phone.

@Squirrel Thanks. I started seeing those a couple of days ago but didn’t know if it was widespread or not.

It is. :)
