YourHouseIsMyHouse Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Against the left handed heavy Twins I think he will go 7IP 3ER 5H 2BB 7K Mauer goes 1-2 with a walk against him and Morneau will strike out every time he faces him.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 fun fact: Willingham has a 2.667 OPS against Liriano 1-2, 1 HR, 2RBI, 1BB
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 What matters is only the knowledge Terry Ryan had at the time the decision was made. This makes it fairly difficult for us fans to complain, since we will never know for sure what was in Ryan's mind. I am still not happy about trading the Twins' highest ceiling pitcher to their most hated rival for two mediocre prospects. I think that it was a mistake not to give Lirano one more start, in the hope that another golden egg might pop out of his ass. Unless you believe that at least one of the prospects has significant value, what would be the downside of giving Liriano another start? Losing two mediocre prospects? If Liriano leads the White Sox to the World Series, then words cannot express how sickening this will be.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 This isn't about what you think of the trade, there are 30 other threads for that, this is about how you think he will pitch tomorrow against the Twins.
J-Dog Dungan Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I think Willingham drives in 4 against Liriano and hits two home runs in the game.

70charger Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Liriano pitches 4, gives up 5. If he's lucky, he gets pulled in the fifth inning.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 It depends on whether or not AJ has any LPW skills.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I won't touch this one... Because it would really suck to guess right. I couldn't figure him out while he was here.... I don't want to be able to figure him out in another uniform. Nope... I won't play... In case I nail it.
DPJ Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Can AJ or Flowers squat low enough for Liriano's liking?
James Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 My guess: 5 IP 10 H 5 ER 6BB 6K Very much a guess. I'm betting he's nervous and he end up serving up some meatballs. Another question is how long will Blackburn's start?
DPJ Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Another question is how long will Blackburn's start? There's no fun in guess how bad Blackburn is gonna get lit up.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 1/3 IP - 7ER - 3BB - 1SO... here's to hoping.

edavis0308 Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 7IP 5H 4BB 7K 3ER. It always seems like former players always fair decently their first time back facing us.
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Scoreless 3 innings and then the wheels fall off. Typical Frankie. The question is how long they stick with him.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 There's no fun in guess how bad Blackburn is gonna get lit up.the over/under tonight is 9 total runs. Pretty sure that will be destroyed within the first 3 innings.
DPJ Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I could actually see Liriano pitching well tonight. A lefty heavy Twins lineup and Liriano has always killed lefties. I'm guessing a gritty 6IP 3H 3ER 2BB 7K
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Screw Liriano, I'm going to predict Mauer's line tonight: 0-0, 4 BB, 1 K. I think Joe will know what Francisco is going to throw before Francisco will.
DPJ Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Seems like a good day to give Morneau a rest, but maybe Morneau "wants a piece" of Liriano.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 0-0 and 1k?Heh, he'll put the bat on his shoulder and keep it there. (obviously that should have read 0-1)

James Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Latino Mind Reader? It could be that. I think Joe's been watching the movement of Liriano's pitches since 2006 might help him some too. Minus injury time of course.
