I think he's looking for just a little more consistency from Santiago, since the homers were to different parts of the park.

Perhaps if the batters would hold their bat out and say, "I like 'em right about there." Clearly Santiago was spotting the ball in the area NASA refers to as "Launch Central."

Seriously, I've never seen quite such a bad case of Pipeline Fever. Santiago is firing BP nothing balls right down the center of the strike zone. All the Royals are doing is what any major league team would do - wait for the nothing ball of their preference. When you know you're going to get one right down the middle, all you need to do is be a little patient.

Alright

Let's start the official Mejia WHIP and ERA Tracker

As of Right Now... 0.00 and 0.00

He is our team leader in both categories so he will probably get sent down after the game.

Paul Molitor, before the game:  "Don't worry about just getting here, Adalberto, we won't use you tonight unless the game goes extra innings or the starter gets injured."

Paul Molitor, fifth inning. "Get Adalberto up and tell him he might be going two or three... Yes, Eddie, innings, not batters".

In all seriousness, the silver lining of this trade - actually trading Nolasco for someone worse - is that it might push ownership to get a new GM from outside the organization instead of keeping Rob Antony in the position. There's gotta be a bright side.

"Call reversed, boys! That's the break we were looking for! We got 'em now!"

It's not often that Dick Bert make an observation that I care to repeat. But they pointed out that the Twins gave up quite a few runs whilst winning 3of 4. You can only mask poor pitching with hitting so long.

OK.  Enough about the praying f'ing mantis.  Seriously.  Enough.

They're pretty cool. Grow some appreciation for nature, ya old coot.

Bert:  "Didn't Bernie Carbo carry a monkey around with him?"

Dick:  [nervous chuckle] "I don't know"

Bert: 'I see some Francisco Liriano in Mejia when I watch him pitch. Also, I'm higher than the national debt right now'

Wouldn't the whip be 3.00?

At the time it was 3.33 cuz he only had two outs under his belt.

It's a fast moving game.

Yes and 2 outs and 2 hits is 3.00 whip, is it not?

I don't think it's possible to have a 3.33 whip after 2 outs.

The possibilities are

0.00

1.50

3.00

4.50

6.00

Etc.

Etc.

I could be wrong though, I'm not a professional math doer.

Ah Craig... Umm...

He lives in a desert.

Yup. You've gotta do better than an oversized grasshopper if you want to impress a guy who walks a scorpion the size of a Yorkshire terrier three times a day.

Ok, I know what the problem is. We need a rally icon. Rally Mantis, Rally Monkey! We need ideas people! Let's all chip in and help this team find its own identify. Difficult to get into the dugout, but a Rally Rhinoceros would be my choice!
