Hmmm. Let's see? We have our SS at third, our MiLB 2B at SS, our 3B at first, an IF in RF a LF in CF and Robbie in LF? And Kurt is behind the plate. What could go wrong?

Maybe we're wrong about Santiago and he'll figure it all out. But it's mind blowing that he's won 10 games this year

He was 6-0 with a 1.78 ERA in July

We trade for him and his hot streak just slams on the breaks.

I think you're in contention for today's best post.

Only three of those wins were quality starts. Another was a 21-2 win. The other two, his two best games, were against the Rays and White Sox, who were struggling. Even Mike Pelfrey had 6-0 months.

... it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses."

I have only played beer volleyball, so I don't know any real VB rules, but I think they rotate positions also. Maybe Molly was watching the Olympics?

Yeah but... If I take all the things you've posted in response into consideration.

My Narrative starts to crumble.

So I'm going to ignore your post and stick with my implication that it was a Twins infection of sorts causing this.

A Twinfection. That's your story and you're sticking to it.

I have done both. Little known fact! It is I who was the inspiration for the "I've fallen and I can't get up" commercial. :).

Royals broadcast talking about how Milone and Santiago used to own them before they came to MN.

Santiago had a 2.96 ERA against them in 14 games (8 starts) before tonight.

Just a wee bit of commentary by Santana about Santiago's pitching on that last homer, as he does four or five steps of mock jog in pursuit of a ball that was probably tracked briefly by NORAD before it landed.

Let's see if we get positive news soon about Tommy Milone's recovery from injury.

Santiago's plan of pitching himself into a DFA so he can hit FA a year early is working to perfection.  He may be a free agent before the end of the season.

Can I steal this and make it my sig?

Is there some subtle hint Paul Molitor is looking for?

I think he's looking for just a little more consistency from Santiago, since the homers were to different parts of the park.

The Twins pitching coaches are to pitchers, as Dutch Elm disease is to Ash trees.

Underrated post of the night candidate

"Paul Molitor has seen enough."

If you simple add the word "I" to that sentence and rearrange the words, I think we have a solution for next year!

I'll tell ya this much, he has a higher pain tolerance level than I do.

What, was he distracted by playing candy crush so he missed some of it?

Strat-o-matic Report

Top of the 5th

Suzuki strikes out looking.

Santana strikes out swinging.

Dozier strikes out swinging.

Bottom of the 5th

(Adalberto Mejia pitching)

Cuthbert pops out to the catcher.

Cain singles.

Hosmer grounds into a fielder's choice, Cain out at 2nd (5-4).

Morales reaches on an error by Suzuki. Hosmer to 2nd.

Perez strikes out looking.

Or, you know, I could have let Santiago keep pitching and give up 2 more HRs.

Haven't been around in a while.  Don't have as much time or the inborn masochism to comment this year. Caught some of the game tonight... as much as you guys make the game worth "watching" I just.... can't... do it... <<<gasping with labored breath>>>  Then:

1. <<<dies from broken heart syndrome>>>

2.  <<<Rex Hudler does my eulogy>>>

Double suck.

Santiago gives up a lot of megahomers. I think he has Jurassic Outlet Syndrome.
