Call me Ishmael.

No seriousl, would it hurt you to pick up the phone every once in a while? We worry...

Last night's comments about no tome game thread intros made me want to write the great american game thread intro... To me, there is currently no greater out let for self expression. Unless you count telling jokes. Or playing the tuba. Baseball exhibits a weird fascination. With nothing to do, folk will find them selves wandering down to the sea... i mean a baseball game. But alas, i haven't got time.

So just noting the cliffs...

5. Homeruns, or whales. As i am calling them in this intro. What is your favorite Euphemism?

Er, sans further ado... (here endeth the Thome tome)

We also get to welcome our new pitcher, hopefully with a bit of run support... Knock on wood... Or more aptly, the wood does the knocking... Anyway... I should remember. Speak softly and swing a big stick.

Quick turnaround game so Molitor switches up the lineup some. Mauer is hot! To bad this isn't on tv here.

Does MLB Network black out in market games that aren't otherwise televised? They're airing it.

Hector Santiago ranked 16th on a list of famous people named Hector.

Other famous Hector's.....go!

For the Breaking Bad fans out there:

This game isn't on TV at all? Not that I'll be able to watch it anyway while at work.

I know it's on MLB Network, but I don't remember if it gets blacked out in market if it's not otherwiseaired. You'd be able to see it in Texas.

Go... where?

Isn't there a Hector that had something to do with elephants?

Or was it Rhinoceri?

Yeah I've got nothing. I did just look up that the Spanish meaning of the name Hector is "Tenacious". I would certainly like to see that from a Twins pitcher.

I was confusing Hector with Hannibal for a moment. My bad.

Those H's will get ya every time...

What does a guy who likes fava beans and Chianti have to do with elephants and rhinoceri? :)

I assume it was a bloop that Mauer couldn't commit on?

Outfielder got to the ball and slid. Had it in his glove for a second so Joe turned back, but then the ball came out.

Yeah Cleveland LF tried making a sliding catch, it was in his glove then fell out. Mauer was stuck thinking it was caught.

If you walked up to 10 baseball fans on the street and asked "How many Homeruns does Mike Napoli have?"

6 of them would say "Who the hell is Mike Napoli?"

The other 4 wouldn't guess he has 27 HRs this season. Somehow he does.
