Well, Hector did hear a who.*

*no idea if anyone posted that.....still on page 1.

You're referring to Hector Horton?

wow, I know it's been bad for Cleveland starters, but that was quite the hand for clevinger and his 4 2/3

Mauer with the difficult duo of being thrown out at First and Third in same game.  Can he be thrown out for the cycle?  Once at each base in the same game?  Has anyone ever done that?

Thanks for making me feel better.

Horton also hatched an egg.

I meant what i said and i said what i meant.

4.1 innings for Clevinger. Another short start for Cleveland. Their bullpen must be starting to wear out, like the Twins bullpen in April.

I've never seen worse base running from a professional than Mauer today.

If it's anyone but the Golden Boy they would've been pulled by now. Show some effort. Third time he's cost the team an out on the bases just today. If you're injured, then don't play.

One of the Cleveland announcers attempted to mitigate Mauer's blunder by saying Kepler should have been looking ahead, but Kepler was too busy being aggressive. You're not expected to worry about some clueless old man cluttering up the base path.

Announcers are saying Kepler should share the blame. That one is totally on Joe for me.

Yep, they're dead wrong. There is no reason why Joe shouldn't take third on that bobble. He wasn't paying attention. Very similar to the play in the first when assumed the guy was going to make a sliding catch, trotted back to first like its a D-league slow pitch game, and got forced at second.

Not that it really matters, but his base running blunders are the reason why they're losing today. I'm as big of a Mauer defender as anyone, but when you're making 23 million, that's inexcusable.

Don't forget the force at second.

Would a play at the plate be too much?

Kind of like driving down the road at 65 and there's a car in front of you going 40. You get pissed, then when you pass you see he's a "clueless old man" and you feel bad. I'm sure Kepler apologized to Mauer in the dugout for being young, fast, and aggressive.

This guy we can non-tender after the season at no cost.

Does that help make the 3-run HR a little less painful? :)

Can he be run through waivers now in exchange for org filler? Some pitchers have personal catchers; Santiago needs personal outfielders.

Is this game on MLB network with the Cleveland feed?

That's what I'm watching. FSN also has it, I believe.

Actually, he was throw out going to first, then doubled off first because he went too far toward second, and the got caught between second and third.

Mauer only needs to get thrown out between third and home to complete the cycle!

A single, followed by a double, followed by a walk.....no runs scored w/o a double play. How often does that happen with only 1 SO?

Too often with this team, sadly.

It's not exactly that Mauer lacks hustle, but that Kepler is operating at a higher level of hustle, like Bryce Harper. Older players like Mauer learn to conserve their energy. Young stars like Kepler are looking for reasons to pour on the energy. Those two different approaches just clashed at second base.

No way, man. No one gets away with going 40 on the Autobahn.
