DJSim22 Provisional Member Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 IF in...sharply hit ground ball right to the SS...even if he had a green light to go he has react to the play in front of him. Its like blaming a coach for a player getting picked off 1B. Sure he may have had the green light to steal but you have to know the situation. Ummmm, if it is run on contact you are running on contact. Not waiting for it to get anywhere near the shortstop. Not sure what you don't understand about it. The situation is the nano second the ball hits the bat you are running, that's the situation.
DJSim22 Provisional Member Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Until now I didn't but thanks for the clarification....Like I said the player has discretion. You freeze on a line drive, if the ball is hit sharply to 3B or SS, or if the pitcher fields it. We learned that in LL and it carried all the way through college... lol, you'd rather Rosario gets caught three steps off of third base.

CampQ Verified Member Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Kyle Gibson reminds of an engineer in Diego Rivera's Detroit Industry murals. If we can at least keep playing competitive ball from game to game henceforth I'll stay tuned in

So clearly you didn't read through the thread or you would've found the answer to your question. Idk why it is so difficult for YOU to realize the nuances of that play. As for your last point, if he's 3 steps off the bag why could he not just go back? "Not sure what you don't understand about that." See I can do it too....

See I can do it too....Both of you ... stop it ... this is a game thread and the game is over. If you want to discuss the nuances of managing/coaching, and when a player has discretion, then start a thread and discuss it respectfully without pointing fingers of 'you just don't understand' when someone has a different take. Agree to disagree here and move on.
twinssouth Provisional Member Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I'm not used to this but we actually had a "save" yesterday.
