Brock, at work, they changed a setting on IE11 (I think)......

 

and now I can't use any of the formatting tools. Is this something I can somehow change back?

Did you try 'More Reply Options'?

I'm not Brock, but try this: In IE 11 hit F12 to open the developer tools, and then go to the tab called 'Emulation.'

 

Then go to TD. Do you see these settings in that Emulation tab? Particularly that Document Mode?

Just went to TD using Microsoft Edge 20... Works good. Tried opening same page in IE... no good. Freezes up. I'd switch to the newer MS browser, if possible. I see the formatting tool bar above the text...

Looks like that......they did make some changes to our settings (which actually fixed a real work problem for me).

FWIW.   I use IE 11 at work and have no problem seeing or using any of the text formatting tools and options made available to us on the site.

IE does weird things with javascript; that's probably what this is. One other thing you might try; if you can get to the Compatibility View settings try adding this site to that list and see if it makes any difference.

Did you try clicking on 'More Reply Options'?

 

I know it's as you describe whenever I'm on my iPad but I've never had issue with it on a computer. Then again, I never ever use IE. (Thankfully we are given options at work so I can avoid it.)

I took a computer programming course and was pretty savvy with troubleshooting.  However, that high school course was a couple of  years ago, and you might not be on an Apple 2E, so I am not sure the advice would be helpful.  

 

If your screen colors inverted and the background is now green (or orange) and your text is now black and you want to switch back to black background and green (or orange) text, or if you are having problems with Oregon Trail -- let me know and I might be able to help.

The mods don't always have the entire User Manual either, but I was surprised to learn recently that the Edit button is there for one hour. Brock can correct me if I have some facet of that wrong.

yeah, I knew that. Well, I knew it was a very limited time frame editing was allowed; I wasn't sure what the time frame was, but knew that it was relatively short.

I re-read my own posts immediately and then frequently thereafter. I also quote myself liberally - it brings spice to my writing.
