Line drives  in gloves are outs, too

Clever of May to let  him hit it so hard.  That way it carried all the way out to Hunter.

Weird factoid about tonight's game:  Bartolo Colon is serving as the Twins batboy.

I wish Paul Molitor would tell that kid, "Don't worry, we'll whip you into shape." That would be frightening.

Seems like every time I'm paying attention, Escobar takes a crack at a longball once per at bat. Here, slow runner on first and two outs, 1-1 count, I was saying "go for it". I like his apparent approach - it won't result in extra bases every time, but he has just enough power to make it worth trying.

Do road teams bring their own bat boys? I'm assuming it's some local kid, and there's probably some backstory involving his health whereby I felt a little guilty laughing at this observation.

Part of hitting is knowing what you're hoping to do, and adjusting as needed.

Something a certain highly paid Twins could perhaps consider.

The home team provides the bat boys.

Duffey's curve actually looked better after a hundred pitches. Finally got that thing warmed up. Good outing. Good show by Boyer, too.

I've said elsewhere that Boyer looks like a lock to hold a 40-man spot over the winter and likely a 25-man spot coming north next Spring.

What I've not been quite brave enough to say is that he might actually be earning such priority by a strong final month or so. His season ERA is a fluke, but his recent appearances have been surprisingly drama free. Last 13 games his WHIP has been under 1.
