USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Team who is trying to win: when the bullpen gets run through, they option one guy the next day and activate a replacement, so as to have at least one fresh arm in the pen. I would bet they had the activated reliever on his way to NY before last night's game ended. Team that can't be bothered: nothing.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 God, I wish announcers would tell us useful stats. Bert giving us Bird's MiLB RBI total for the season... How else are we supposed to find out he's a clutch run-producer?
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 We're being shut down by street-fighting CC? I'm sad, but hanging in there.

To be fair, we have 13 pitchers currently on our staff, 3 of whom are relievers, and did not pitch yesterday (or the day before, for that matter).
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Thomas L. Friedman. Damn good writer. http://www.thomaslfriedman.com

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I like Paul Molitor, I hate the fact he thinks Shane Robinson should ever play ahead of Eddie Rosario. It makes me to want to scream things through the TV.
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Thomas L. Friedman. Damn good writer. http://www.thomaslfriedman.com I agree, but I doubt he could run with the big dawgs on TDGT!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Sabathia perfect through three because of course he is. This is exactly what I feared after last night's game.
SydneyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Memo to Twins batters: stop pretending this is the 2011 version of CC Sabathia. This is the edition with the 5+ ERA who has coughed up more HRs than anyone not called Phil Hughes. Deal with it. Message ends
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Where did that urge come from?Hard as it is to believe, Dick Bremer.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Hard as it is to believe, Dick Bremer.Ok. I'm watching the Yankees broadcast. Sorry I'm missing the fun. Actually, few baseball announcers are fun. Very few.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Who else thinks when CC isn't playing baseball, he spends his entire existence in shorts and flip flops?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Someone missed a point, or two! Or none. Read Chief's original post; he said when the bullpen gets run through, they option a guy so they can bring up a replacement, so they have at least one fresh arm. We have 3 guys with fresh arms. Because our bullpen was not run through. Hence no need to bring up a fourth fresh arm, otherwise a team with a 7 man bullpen would have to make a move every time they used 4 relievers in a game.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Somebody needs to hitta da beisbol!
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Rosario throws him out.I think you're kidding, right?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I think you're kidding, right?Robinson made a great play to get to the ball, but his 8 hopper to Dozier kinda spoiled it for me.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I think there's enough material in CC's jersey to outfit a little league baseball team.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Rollie ****ing Fingers makes the play at the hot corner.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Awesome.........................stache.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Dan Gladden, in reference to Joe Mauer, was just heard to utter... "if there's anyone to break up a no-hitter, it's this guy". I'm guessing he doesn't spend a whole lot of time studying those crazy stat things.

It has been run through.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 I hate this team. I'm tempted to ask which one, but i know the answer would be "yes" Hopefully someday they'll live up to your expectations. But in the meantime, don't compromise yer standards. High standards are worth 'em.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I wish the twins could just simulate these games against the Yankees and skip ahead to their next game. They are so utterly pathetic against NY that it pains me to even watch. Their struggles against the Yankees in the last 12 or so years are a pretty telling reason why this team hasn't accomplished jack squat since half our lineup was in diapers, despite having decent clubs. They are mentally weak, no matter how good or bad the Yankees are. They will continue to accomplish nothing so long as they can't hang with teams between the ears. Change of managers, change of rosters. Doesn't matter. I wouldn't put this Yankees team in the top 5 yankee clubs of the last 10 years. Maybe not even top 7. But it doesn't matter. They'll probably get swept this series, and if they're lucky, they won't lose on another walk off.
