spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 let's not forget iron rangers!Especially let's not forget that iron ranger Archibald "Moonlight" Graham! Riverbrian and Platoon 2
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 What about the street ranger? I think he's more commonly known by abbreviation... as in 'howdy, st. ranger!' Or is it saint ranger? I get the two confused. I'm not familiar enough with 'em, i guess. Riverbrian 1
Blake Verified Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I can hardly wait for the game tonight. Really. Truly, Seriously. Well, okay, maybe in a "rip the bandage off quickly" sort of way. ashbury, glunn and Riverbrian 3

Gibby Provisional Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 As a bonus, he has the three name thing going, which Texans seem to love.... Yep, Texans and serial killers. ashbury and Riverbrian 2
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 This will be one of my first chances to watch an entire ballgame in some time. A lot of small things going on plus opportunities to play a lot of golf have kept me away from my TV. It is also an opportunity to watch Gibson pitch. I like the way he goes about his business and he seems like a really nice young man. Riverbrian and glunn 2
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 But why is the 1st batter on base again? This is getting tiresome. glunn 1
wavedog Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Get to watch a rare Twins game down here in Texas. Hopefully won't be over after the 1st inning. Vanimal46 and Riverbrian 2
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 But why is the 1st batter on base again? This is getting tiresome. And a 2nd. 2 on for Prince.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Prince up w/ two on, none out. Not good.
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 You are correct that it's nearly impossible to be stopped for speeding.... The date: May 2014. I was cruising on I-35 somewhere between Dallas and Austin, traveling 88 in a 70. I look back and see a State Trooper gaining traction on me in the side mirrors (the car was filled to the brim with stuff I was moving down from MN). Brand new, less than 24 hours in my new state, I thought "oh ****, I can't afford a fine right now." I signaled to the right lane and slowed down, anticipating the cherry lights to flick on. INSTEAD, the trooper kept right on moving, going well above 90 MPH, and the sweat stopped dripping down my face. They used to allow passing on the yellow, it was accepted that the oncoming and the passed car would move over on some of their wider two lanes. Sadly they don't tell u that at the border. At first it was quite disconcerting. I think they outlawed that now. Riverbrian 1
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 And Gibson escapes. NO SCORE going into the bottom of the 1st. C'mon Twins!!!! ashbury 1
wavedog Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Sweet! A much needed double play!

Platoon Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Because this is a most excellent thought, and because I'm sure Brian wouldn't mind, and, being his editor, I put that into the article. He has an editor? So the stuff he writes isn't all his fault? Gibby, Blake, ScrapTheNickname and 2 others 5
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 He has an editor? So the stuff he writes isn't all his fault? Not only that, the stuff he doesn't write is all his fault. ScrapTheNickname, Riverbrian and Gibby 3
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Dick just told us there was a players only meeting today! And there was the Molitor meeting, and the expletive fueled Hunter rant. Maybe they should take batting practice instead of all those meeting? Ok, that was snarky, and I apologize profusely! ashbury Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Twins threaten with 2 on in the bottom of the first, don't score. 0-0, CBU.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 The Texas Rangers were named after the New York Rangers but they weren't named for them. They were named for the Texas Rangers. (I'm confident that Riverbrian knows this but I couldn't help myself saying so.) Yeah I did Thank You Chuck Norris

Blake Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Twins - Rangers: Two Teams. Two styles of ineptitude. Who will prevail in this titanic battle between two teams bound and determined to make baseball history..and not in a good way.... Riverbrian 1
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Don't forget, the stuff he does right is his fault.That... is a purely hypothetical assumption, not yet backed up by experimental observation. formerly33 and Riverbrian 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 I'm going to try this one more time: Win Twins. Keep trying... Don't stop. We are all right behind you. Laughing and Pointing but behind you none the less. When given the choice between optimism and pessimism... Always choose optimism because Opt is cooler than Pess. And besides... You'll always have that stopped clock is right twice a day thing going for you.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 I don't think Dozier will hold the title for K's as long as Darwin did, though. Sano might have it by August 1 next year. It's amazing to me that the all-time single-season record for the Twins is only 145 K's. Harmon had 145 walks in a season. There have been almost 300 instances of a hitter striking out more than 145 times in a year, none (so far) by a Twin. Anderson and his crazy bat to contact theories. big dog 1
