But i'm a sucker for anything concerning Flight of the Conchords folk... Haven't heard of it, but I'll check it out. I loved Flight of the Conchords, though I did once make the mistake of showing it to my parents. The song called "If You're Into" came on: It got awkward.

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I'm watching the Decorah Eaglets wait for Mom and Dad to bring home supper. More interesting than the game where Twins bats seem to be non-existent.

Yeah, they're kinda the master of awkward humor. This is spot on with that as well.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Yay Buxton boo Twins. Still thinking positive thoughts. Defense and starting pitching is doing its job. Bullpen and bats...well..

Thanks all for the company!

Yep, I'm stuck cooking again.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Well, ****. Anybody seen any good movies lately?Yes, but it's not new. But an old favorite, and I first saw it as a kid at the theater with my Dad and family. Dad had been a pilot in the war, and lived for all things aviation-related.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 The starting rotation is there. Solid. Not like Charlie Morton giving up nine runs and not finishing the first inning in the Pirates game. But the bullpen. Who do we keep. Who do we never see again. Who do we send down for MAYBE anotehr chance at a later date. Who do we bring up. DO we bring up ROgers and give him a chance as the lefty. Do we bring up Oliveros. Or do we stick with Thielbar and Achter because they are on the 40-man. No one will claim Duensing. No one will claim Thompson, and I doubt that he would refuse an assignment to the minors. But both would probably be in limbo for 10 days if waived off the 40-man (and, please, why is Bernier still there). Plus, BRING UP A BAT. PerkinsFien/BoyerPressly/Graham No lefty setup above. Doesn't send chills, but workable keepers for now. Rogers/Oliveros (see if Lester can throw heat consistently past big league bats) And for the heck of it, bring up Sano. A week or two or three. Let him get The Taste at DH and maybe a game or two at third.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Just got back from the game. Ugh. It was a nice day - very hot outside, but the shade is fantastic. Too bad the Twins decided not to show up and Aaron Thompson is pitching his way out of a job.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Thanks! Know them well. I kinda hope if Disney reboots Indy they consider Sean Patrick Flanery for the lead.I've thought about the reboot of Indiana Jones for much more time than I ever should have. I don't like it. I cannot envision anyone other than Harrison Ford in that role. Obviously that is unrealistic, and the reboot will probably happen, I just hope the guy who they make the movies about is the son of Indiana Jones (Mutt Williams... sigh). But, I do bet it could be good if the role is filled by Michael Fassbender or Bradley Cooper and hopefully he changes his nickname. If the movie is made in the near future, hopefully Harrison Ford plays a big part of the first movie. Preferably I want Disney to leave that movie franchise alone. To me Harrison Ford is the only guy who can play Indiana Jones in a motion picture.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 While I think Arrieta was sharp today, just about anybody could shut the Twins down right now. Much of what went right offensively in May is going wrong in June. The starting staff has been very good, but there are a lot of suspect arms in the bullpen. There were an awful lot of Cubs fans in the crowd today. They had everything to cheer about compared to Twins fans. Very good crowd again today.

The stories vary depending on the history it is set in, but on the whole, they are worth it. I think they're good enough that the sucked me back into watchin' the high adventure WWI episodes. I'd lend my support Sean Patrick Flannery as well, who i'm otherwise familiar with because of Boondock Saints. Anyway, i've often been tempted to bring up the Tolstoy episode in game threads, as there is nice baseball connection there (along with the prevailing Russian Lit theme)... Off to bed. Sorry I wasn't up to the usual attempt at poetry for today's game thread, as per my previous Sunday intros...
