David HK Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 He seems to be returning to Small Sample Size Super-Pelf mode.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I actually thought Joe would get a hit there. His RISP numbers are tanking lately, so I thought he'd get what I like to call a "Sid Breamer", a worthless two out single or a home run when you're leading by 10 or losing by 10.In the first inning I thought he might have a hit, he didn't exactly get robbed, but the play Bourjos made to get to the ball was a good one.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Let the hunger games begin! Vargas batting 8th probably suggests a Sano call-up is indeed imminent, right?Lol! And may the odds be ever in your favor! At least my typos/miscues provide some entertainment, minor that they are.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 He seems to be returning to Small Sample Size Super-Pelf mode. Hope the sample size is at least as large as this game... The Pelfinator!
formerly33 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 While we're talking about The Hunger Games, I've often wondered what it would be like if they modernized baseball stadiums and started raising the players up into their respective positions the same way the tributes were raised into the arena. Who would be the first to start?
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Gameday says Pelfrey's fastball is hitting 95... sinkers 92-94 ... Splitter 81 (!) that's pretty darn good.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Vargas will get another chance this inning. (Some unspecified joke about him stepping on the gas...)
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 The best part of Tangled is of course, the horse.Approves: / cue the "there's a horse in that photo???" comments
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Man, i was almost hoping to see if Buxton could pass Vargas... Vargas acquitted himself in that at bat, though.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 singles are nice - Twins need some runs!

Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 All we need is a bloop, a couple walks, a passed ball, and a wild pitch, and we are right back in this thing.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 It's the middle of the night here, and just trying to lull back to sleep with the usual illegal sports feed. Cards broadcast- The Cardinals have had some legendary announcers over the years, but the two clowns they have in the booth at present really, really suck. Not like Hawkster-suck, but really pedestrain kind of suckage.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 If there was a time to pick up a teammate , it would be now.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 If you fall behind a LH hitter with power, two out and nobody on, late in a scoreless game, with a RH hitter on deck, one thing you don't want to do is throw a pitch that can be pulled for a HR. A walk ain't the end of the world.
