Hrbowski Verified Member Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Game Thread, Twins vs. Athletics, 5/7 @ 12:10 pm CTWeather:We are not talking about neutered rams here, so I did not spell this “wether,” because wethers don’t have anything to do with baseball, unless the Cubs decide they would rather have “The Curse of the Wether,” but who knows? Maybe that is what is effecting the Twins these past years, but I don’t know how or why we would have been cursed. Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. [ATHLETICS (12-17): Drew Pomeranz, LHP (1-2, 4.61 ERA) TWINS (15-13): Ricky Nolasco, RHP (1-1, 10.13 ERA) Here are your things to think about:Riverbrian - - Some people might wonder why we want to think about him, but as I write this I am, because since he is the best I am trying to do this game thread like him, because I have always believed that we should try to be like the best (sorta like how I copy Hunter Pence’s batting stance, George Bush’s swagger, and always33’s harassment of ChiTown), and that is why I am doing “5 things,” but what else does Riverbrian do beside going on TD or hanging with his drunk cousins? (Riverbrian can tell how he survived those hangings, and how high the gallows were of the ground) I am going out on a limb here and guessing that the only other thing he does is listen to his wife scream at him.The Origin of Game Threads - - So how did these start in the first place? I am a new comer to here, so I can’t be certain, but I do have a hypothesis; one day there was a big bang in Twins Territory, and all of a sudden things started to happen that had never happened before, such as five people becoming owners of a website called “Twins Daily,” and strange creatures called “Moderators” started to appear, and eventually after everything was done spinning around we all settled down perfectly by chance and learned how to survive moderators and capture unsuspecting fellow members, and eventually the Game Thread appeared.Chairs - - According to Wikipedia, Drew Pomeranz, the A’s starting pitcher for today, “Made 8 starts, going 4-3 with a 3.21 ERA, striking out 37 in 42 innings, before fracturing his non-throwing hand by punching a wooden chair after giving up 8 runs in 3.2 innings against the Rangers on June 16. Brad Mills took his spot in the rotation as Pomeranz went on the disabled list.” So what if I decided to go punch a chair after I did poorly on this game thread? Would I lose my occupation of, “Student who is suffering from Twins fever and can't sleep when they lose; pestering ChiTown for Profile editing help” ? That might be a relief if I can start sleeping at night when the Twins lose, or better yet, I might retire from being a student! As you can see chairs can be troublesome things, and that may be why I am sitting in one as I write this. One Dollar Bills - - If I remember correctly I mentioned Brad Mills, and apparently he is worth a one dollar bill (not the former Astros manager, he is worth less), so next time you have a one dollar bill you can donate it to a Kickstarter called, “Help the Twins acquire Brad Mills,” and you can then say you gave some money to charity to help someone who was poor and needy, and you better write a check, so when the IRS gives you an audit you can prove it, but I am not sure if Kickstarter donations are tax deductible, the IRS Tax Code is a pretty big book, and I have not gotten to that part, but the 2 cents you save or whatever it is will be worth it.Moms - - Mother’s Day is coming up, so I am trying to think of a gift to give to my mother (I guess it is a given that I had one at some period in my life), and I came up with an idea, it is the best gift a boy could give to his mother, I hereby solemnly resolve to set up a Twins Daily account for her so she can enjoy the best thing on the internet, learn how to survive moderators, capture unsuspecting fellow members, and roll into her grave when she reads Riverbrian’s posts. I did not do any intentional plagiarizing on this game thread; I also wrote this in a hurry, so please point out any punctuational errors.

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Tahoe Forecast this morning: scattered reading with first-graders mid-morning, followed by a period of intense dental checkup. I'll catch up with you all later, if I survive this maelstrom.

Um, a heartfelt: "I love you, Mom. Thanks for everything." might be a better choice. And maybe, do some things voluntarily around the house and surprise her.

Yeah, that might be better, not only will she appreciate it more, I am a bit worried that if she rolled into her grave she might try to take me with her.
