Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 My siblings also used to "check" any dessert (esp ice cream) I was eating to "make sure it was not poisoned" and then eat half of it. Although I suppose that was better than when they made me chocolate milk and added some Tabasco sauce with the chocolate syrup. Kind of scary that they ended up having kids of their own, because looking back, they might be sociopaths.I got back at my sibs by buying their kids the most obnoxious noise-making toys I could find.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 For a minute there I got you and Chief confused. We had sand for dinner, not dessert.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Only a minute? They're confused by you all the time!My job here is done.

Rumor has it there was an open offer from my grandpa to pay for bag pipe lessons for any of us grandkids. I'm still surprised i didn't hear of it until after i'd left the nest...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Only a minute? They're confused by you all the time!Winner.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Your family could afford dessert??!? in Chief's day... They had to make their own. They'd walk miles to retrieve little grains of sugar that were spilled by coffee drinkers at a diner 3 miles from home. They'd brush off the counter and walk through snow and rain and sunshine to bring back little bits of sugar and they did this every day until they had enough Sugar to make a pie. They'd bake the pie and set it on the window ledge to cool. And Yogi Bear would come by and steal it... much to Boo Boo and Ranger Bob's Chagrin. It's rough in the wild

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I remember for certain holiday meals we would get water with our sand. The Easter Day mud pies were always really special. One Fourth of July we were surprised by getting gourmet sand from the beach.
