blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Now that we know the Twins 25 man roster, those with the know, probably can tell within a player or two who will be on these rosters, want to give me an educated guess??????? There are sooooo many pitchers, who will make it? Will there be that many cuts or will they DL(hide) alot of people? It seems really crowded for those pitching spots. HELP!!!!!! LOL

Thegrin Verified Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 From MiLB this seems to be the Rochester Roster >>> http://www.milb.com/roster/index.jsp?sid=t534This is the Chattanooga Lookouts Roster >>> http://www.milb.com/roster/index.jsp?sid=t498
NoCryingInBaseball Verified Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I enjoy reading about how the prospects are doing with the Red Wings and Lookouts during Spring Training games....but only get anecdotal reports from Bob Sacamento, Chris Fee and a few others (mostly Twitter reports). Guess I need to wait until regular season starts to follow them on Game Day reports.
Gagne Fan Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Those are the rosters those guys appeared on to end 2014...not this year's roster
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Here are the MiLB work groups which is basically the roster, as of 4/2/15 If this is right, that Chattanooga roster is going to be really, really fun to watch. With the exception of Hicks/Gonzalez at 1B (and Kepler will get some time there) every expected starter is a big time prospect or a strong sleeper prospect. Not a lot of chaff on that roster.
Thegrin Verified Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Dalton Hicks was not a high pick but he has moved right up the ladder.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Thats four top 20 prospects in the OF at Chattanooga. I hope Kepler gets the regular 1Bgig, but I don't know that the team will move Gonzalez to a bench role. I'd guess Hicks is the DH and some guys get rotated through there some, but Hicks has never been a bench player either.
Clear Lake Twinsfan Verified Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 With Pinto, Fryer and Bernier still to be added to the Rochester roster there are still a few cuts and/or demotions to come. Also I notice that Mike Kvasnicka, Kyle Knudson, and Tony Thomas aren't included in any of the work groups. Have they been released?

blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 I guess the biggest thing, is I am wondering what they will do with all the excess pitching, it doesnt seem that they usually release that many players right at the end, but maybe they do and i miss the transactions.

If they follow that mix again this year, I don't see a lot of excess pitching right now. There might be when some of these guys come off the DL. It looks to me like there are more position players at risk right now rather than pitchers.

nater79a Verified Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Looks like the Chattanooga starting staff could be Berrios, Duffey, Peavey, Wimmers and Baxendale. Interesting to see the placement of Brett Lee and Baxendale this year. Thought maybe Lee would get a shot at AA after his good season at Fort Myers in '14. Could see a flip-flop depending on how those two do this year. Baxy needs to step it up in '15. Also, it appears Jason Adam is on the DL for some reason that I missed. Anyone have any info on that?

Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Milone and Pelfrey are staying behind to pitch tomorrow according to the announcers for todays game. And the games are at 10 am.

Maybe we'll get some more suspensions.

Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Expect a few more releases or trades this and next week. Still too many people in the MiLB camp.
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 What are we doing with Fryer? You quoted the Roster as of 4/2 (which I posted on 4/3), The newest roster I posted this afternoon of 4/4 has Fryer in AAA with Rohlfing and De San Miguel as catcher. From the games I've watched, Rohlfing has gotten the bulk of the reps since his demotion last week.
maxisagod Verified Member Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Here's the Updated Roster from this morning as well as the Daily Itinerary/Pitcher Lineup for 4/4 and 4/5 Hmmm, beside the crazy log jam at starting pitching at every level (especially when guys start coming off the DL) There seem to be a potential hole at 3B in the lower minors. If Sano blows out of AA and Goodrun is playing well enough to take his place, who plays the Hot Corner after that in Fort Myers? Does Ryan Walker move their after his DL stint is done? TJ White has played so few professional games I can't see him getting promoted. Wait until the draft and sign an advance college guy? Minor league free agent? Also if Dereck Rodriguez can't make it out of Rookie league this year, they have to consider releasing him.
