Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Like seeing Pinto behind the dish. And Rosario will be pushing Hicks hard.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Down 1-0... Let's see how the team responds.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 My, that was fast. Thank you, Plouffe! Anyone else want to find the outfield stands with a ball?
big dog Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Nice to have a game on during a break in my day. Sorry I missed the Plouffe homer. Nice snow-cone catch by Hardy on a high pop-up in a swirling wind. During the previous batter a piece of paper was blowing around in circles over third base. Could be an entertaining day for fielders. Run 'em out, boys.
big dog Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Hughes just threw a ball that curved into the dirt. Pinto waved at it and got nothing. Unimpressive effort. He did a nice job of catching an outside ball and pulling it back a little for strike three. Very nice catch by Hicks there- very solid slicing line drive to center with Hicks shifted to the right. He got a great break on the ball and made a diving catch. Really good play.
big dog Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Nice at-bat there by Rosario. Fouled off several pitches, then pulled one down the RF line for a triple. Impressive piece of hitting.
big dog Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 And Eduardo "Who Says I Can't Hit Much" Nunez blasts one out to center. Wind-aided, according to the announcers. Two-run homer, according to the big dog.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Yeah, that was a good catch o' Hicks. In the 4th, 2 quick outs, Rosario gets a triple to the wall in right field, and Nunez puts one out. Up 3-1!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Good fielding by Dozier to take a hit from Davis.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Big Vargas comes up big. 6-1. Now 2 on, no outs after back to back singles by Rosario and Nunez.

I'm not sure how to post in the mobile version, but if you go to the bottom and click on 'Full Version', then choose 'More Reply Options' then follow the prompts ... choose file, etc.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Back at work after my break in The Fort ... just checking into the game now. Looks like everyone is doing their job!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 10-1... I think i recognize the pattern. The next one will be with 4 runners on base. (and only Plouffe's wasn't with 2 outs. I was originally trying to think something witty about a 2 out sac fly, but thought better of it)
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Esco! Wow! Fun times!
James Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 It appears that the Twins decided that they would only score runs via the long ball today. I'm ok with that.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 It appears that the Twins decided that they would only score runs via the long ball today. I'm ok with that. Announcers have said something about the wind blowing out if you get the ball high enough. The Twins pitchers are probably doing a better job of keeping the ball down?
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Long ball Tuesday. Sounds like a good promotion scheme.
Giles Ferrell Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Long ball Tuesday. Sounds like a good promotion scheme.Sponsored by Target. If a player hits one of the bullseyes in the outfield, a lucky fan wins $10,000 gift card. Boom.
woolywoolhouse Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Would the Twins' homeruns today be considered a natural-homerun-cycle? Plouffe hit a solo; then Nunez with the two-run shot; followed by Vargas and a 3-run dinger; and finishing with Escobar's grand slam.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I take a nap, and it's a game again... That'll teach me.

Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 We are training how to blow a 9 run lead.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 I take a nap, and it's a game again...That'll teach me.Ah, so you're to blame for this. Sheesh. I'm at work ... check the score at lunch, it's 10-3 ... now? bleh. whatever. spring training and all.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Ah, so you're to blame for this. Sheesh. I'm at work ... check the score at lunch, it's 10-3 ... now? bleh. whatever. spring training and all. Yup. My bad. I guess i need to get stretched out so i can stay awake for a full game. But yeah, i'm not too worried. Gives the players a chance to work on higher leverage situations. All for the good of the team.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 If the lesson is that naps are awesome, it sounds like you already learned that lesson. All naps are awesome, but some naps are more awesome than others...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Parmelee is battling tough in the bottom of the 9th, 1 on (bloop to left) and no out. Finally ends with a double play. One more out to go. Hope i can stay awake for it.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Well, that's that. Who's up next... Split game: Baltimore at home and Boston on the road. (Pelfrey and Santana respectively)
