Just to update on why I haven't been posting:  just released from the hospital with a badly fractured left humerus,

 

Very little pain and I am very dominantly right handed but everything is just a lot harder.

 

I have watched some of the games -- was fun to see the Twins outdo Detroit,

Next time try to do it correctly.

No, but I can't help it. Every time someone says they broke their humerus, I can't help but think of that.

That commercial does not make me want to visit Wisconsin. Of course, there really wouldn't be much that would make me want to visit there.

Thanks for your well wishes.  No cast -- 3 plates and screws,

 

Shoes went one way. I went another on carpet over concrete,  Saved my wrist but landed with all my weight and  force on my upper arm.

What, hospitals in Iowa don't have internet?  

 

You  can't type with one hand?

 

Pain meds made you a bit nauseous and the doc told you not to make it worse by watching the Twins?

I'm still waiting for the joke ...

This isn't a joke but it reminds me of the conversation I had with my wife after I broke my arm.

 

It went like this:

 

Me: Hi Honey... I was driving over to Jennifer's house... A dog ran in front of my car... I swerved to avoid it but I corrected too much and I went through the guard rail on the viaduct. I smashed the hell out of your car... It's a total loss. When I got out of the car... I stepped onto the road to look at it and I got hit by a car... It was a strange coincidence because it was your mother who was driving the car that hit me.

 

Anyway... I'm in the emergency room now... I'll be Ok... I broke my arm.

 

Wife: Who the Hell is Jennifer?

I dated a guy once who broke his humerus. He was on the bus and had his arm resting on an open window when the bus went by this construction site and got really too close and this pole clipped his arm. Basically snapped the bone in half.

And ever since... Every time he complimented you... It was backhanded.

That commercial does not make me want to visit Wisconsin. Of course, there really wouldn't be much that would make me want to visit there.

I think the concept is good... So much humor potential. But... Whoever wrote them... Was clearly the wrong choice to be writing anything at all.

I'm not posting much more tonight because I am typing one handed and I am getting tired.  I can use my left but it is weak.  Exercises for PT and one nerve not totally awake --- time and exercise needed.

 

I'll watch a littlr longer but probably won't post,

Glad you're okay, or mostly okay, and will be. Don't overdo and do everything the pt tells you! :)
