For all the hatred focused on the Twins by certain fans (thank Danny, not here at TD), I think this is the most exciting, potential-filled (and aggravating) 90+ loss team I've seen. Maybe that isn't saying much, I'm not sure.

Somehow I envision the Tigers owner being like Mr. Burns, sitting in his expensive office, watching the Tigers find another way to sink the end of the season, cursing how he has to find another soul to sacrifice so he can extend his life another year (to what now age 106?) for another attempt to win/buy the world series.

Eventually he'll show his true colors by ordering MigCab to hit a home run.

I second that emotion. I'll add this: The last three games against a probable playoff team showed me more than I remember from the last three Septembers combined.

This was an inspiring win for the Twins, aided by some poor baseball by the Tigers.

Agree. Tiger defense is leaky and they still need much help in the bullpen and they don't have a shortstop, either.

Defeating the Indians would be nice -- but nothing beats messing with Detroit's play-off run (unless it would be messing with the White Sox when relevant).

 

I might have to rewatch this and see how it has aged.  I always felt a little sorry for poor Stay Puft at this this point.  He was just being himself.
