Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Free Pinto!Ok RB, Gardy believes Zuke is having a great year and is superior to Pinto... why can't we do what's best for the Minnesota Twins instead of what's best for the "integrity of the game" and the Detroit Tigers!!!/soapboxJust for clarification... I'm not saying I agree with it. I'm just saying I respect it. As for... Are the twins better with Pinto or Suzuki? I don't know that answer but I really like Pintos bat.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 It's pretty clear from the lack of playing time that Pinto is little more than an afterthought in the Twins plans going forward, at least to Gardy, and apparently not enough of a point of emphasis for Ryan to tell Gardy to get him in more. Even Fryer has gotten a start at Catcher since the call-up date. And so much for Santana getting some major SS immersion in September. Santana is actually playing in CF tonight, yet again, over not one, but two players who have played almost exclusively in CF for their entire professional careers.Just taking a stab in the dark here... Correct me if I'm wrong. Jokin... Are You... In the play Pinto camp?

In the play Pinto camp?not that you asked, but.... I'm in the, "it's too late to salvage a good team this year, but if the Twins play rookies for the duration of 2014 they'll be better in 2015" camp
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I'm with RB on this. For better or worse (I think worse), Gardenhire believes that Suzuki is the superior alternative to Pinto. After probably his biggest slump, Zuke has come back nicely lately.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The Twins rank second to last in shut down innings this year after the Orofino Maniacs.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Here's a Captain Obvious thought: if Gibson is going to beat the Tigers, he needs to dominate everyone not named Cabrera and Martinez. then limit the damage from the middle of the order.

It's gonna take a lot of wood to carve that entire name into the entrance sign. Bark... could you make a sign for Sconnie?
GCTF Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Should probably just shut everyone down.

Esco is young, but well established
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Camp? This one time, at band camp... As to Pinto, it would be a lot easier to buy Gardy's "integrity of the game" excuse if he had found a way to play Pinto at catcher in the White Sox series just this past weekend, which, if I'm not mistaken, even included a doubleheader, pretty much necessitating Suzuki take a seat at least once.

Unfortunately, it looks like it is a hockey rather than baseball camp.http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/305/6/0/greetings_from_camp_crystal_lake_by_sgtp3pper-d5jpikw.png

LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 My theory is, Pinto has ebola. That's more exciting than mine, which is that Gardenhire was driving a certain model of Ford from his home town on OK back to UT Austin, it died right in front of a biker bar in a small Texas town, and it all went reeeally downhill from there...

We call it Camp Too Late, for short. We had a lot of young kids come up this summer but other than this guy Danny, Eddie, and a kid we call "little Kenny", we didn't give any of the kids any playing time........
