Brian? Thoughts? I'll leave you to it.

OK... Step Aside... Give me some room! (Cracks Knuckles)

Things to Think About:

1. Winning/Losing -- I guess it all depends on your attitude. I was encouraged by the comeback last night... Against a pitcher like Scherzer is impressive. It's a moral victory all tho... It sure looks like a loss in the loss column. Because no matter how encouraged I was by the comeback. We went from 86 to 87 losses. 12 Games to go... 90 losses looks possible.

2. Winning/Losing Part 2 -- I was listening to Terry Ryan on the radio on Sunday. He was asked the question about the importance of Wins when evaluating a starting pitcher. I didn't memorize what he said exactly but he basically left no doubt that he considers Wins to be very important because that is what a team is trying to do... A team is trying to win games. Terry left the impression that a great pitching performance that results in a loss is a loss and that's the only way to look at it. I was left with the impression that Terry doesn't take any solace in moral victories. I do... Because I'm looking for signs of life because looking for wins don't matter much to me right now.

3. Rick Porcello -- I've already done a thing on Porcello. He's been a decent pitcher this year for the Tigers. If you like ERA as a stat and I do... Rick Porcello currently has the lowest ERA on the Tigers staff. His 3.23 is better than the 3.26 that both Scherzer and Price are currently sporting. It's odd because when you look at the Tigers rotation... Porcello is probably the guy you hope the Twins will face. Based on the numbers... I wonder if we should feel that way. He's been pretty damn good this year.

4. The Outfield -- "Josie's on a Vacation far away... Come Around and Talk it Over" As for the Twins Outfield. Oswaldo Arcia has been stroking the ball deep lately and it's been a bright spot in a tough September. He's not in the lineup today because he hurt his back with one of those mighty swings last night. Hicks will play RF with Santana in CF and Schafer in LF. All Year we've been complaining about the OF Range. At least for Tonight... We shouldn't have any OF Range complaints.

5. Speeding? -- I drove past a Honda Civic that had been pulled over. It was a hatchback... rusted all over... I assume Circa 1980... 1981. It was an old car and the cop had pulled it over. There is no way this car could be speeding. I'm wondering if I had witnessed an example of attempted speeding.

Driver: "Sir... I wasn't speeding".

Cop: "Yeah... But I know you were attempting to speed and just couldn't pull it off".

Driver: "Fair Enough"

Good news, Arcia not in the OF, bad news, Hicks will be batting for him.  Things depend on which Nolasco pitches tonight:  the guy paid $12MM or "Little Ricky"?

90 losses looks possible inevitable.

Also,

Nolasco Fig Newtons or Nolasco Chips Ahoy

Which is bad Nolasco and which one is good Nolasco? I like Chips Ahoy better than Fig Newtons...

Trick Question... Both are Cookies

I always felt fig newtons were something my Grandpa tried to pass off as a cookie, but I never quite bought that it was really a cookie.

Maybe this guy can pitch next year:

Fig newtons rule.....

So is this because Pinto completely totally absolutely positively with no doubt whatsoever even to a sight impaired umpire, sucks?

Or is it because Suzuki has a bonus coming up on innings or games, or something? Seems I read that.

Or is it Gardy's much esteemed "respect for the game" which requires fielding his absolute best lineup to battle a contender down to the wire? And if it is, how will we be able to tell?

( ok, I am gonna go lay down till I feel better )

I think it probably has something to do with Nolasco being a junkballer and Suzuki being better at blocking pitches. I agree it would be nice to see Pinto play again soon

Don't look now but Ricky Nolasco has been a pretty decent pitcher for the past few weeks.

Whatever happens from here on out, it's your fault.

You didn't number or letter your "Or's"

But the answer is 3 or C

A. Gardy is going to put out what he thinks is his best lineup against a contending team. I'm sure he remembers being in a pennant chase and how he felt when teams chasing him got to face less then... Lineups.

He thinks Suzuki gives the team a better chance to win.

B. Gardy can't spell Pinto so he stopped trying.

Did anyone have problems getting on the webpage the last half an hour?

I am watching the Roosevelt series while following the game.  Right now they are showing clips of trench warfare in WWI and some of the after effects.  I can't even imagine...

Yes ... occasional hiccups, just keep trying.  If it's down more than 15 mins, find Brock on FB and message him.  <G>
