I didn't want to post a new thread on this because I really don't want to get into yet another lengthy Mauer discussion but did anyone else read Reusse in the Strib about the need for management to call out Mauer?

It was kind of an odd piece but then the whole situation with Mauer is odd.  There's nothing to be done but wait for that oblique to finish healing.  On the other hand, sometimes I feel like he needs a size 16 planted firmly on his b*tt.

Mauer has the sweetest swing on the planet. And... He is now pictured in the encyclopedia under injury prone.

Mauer's history has been exceedingly long recoveries from his various injuries. Although all catchers play nicked up, Mauer's threshold for playing with injuries seems lower than most.

 

Probably the harshest thing I can speculate is that Mauer seems to regard his productivity and image above contribution to a losing team.

Apparently SB sees different pages when he clicks in to "My Settings" than I do.

Did you figure out how to edit your member title?  You seem to be sporting a new one.

Upsetness because of Pino's non-pitching mistakes. He should have covered first and he should have pitched around Abreu. Plus Parm may have gotten his toe on the bag before Eaton.
