Well Plouffe, you had better hit a homer, cuz this is the slowest group of base runners in baseball

You left out that the guy at the plate has no wheels either.

I know some people don't put much into the RBI stat, but Plouffe has struggled with runners on base in previous years. I don't know how he is doing in that regard this year, but we could have used a hit there.

If the Yankees called and said if you were willing they would take Mauer & Nolasco's contracts off your books for a PTBNL. wouldja?

I really hate that I'd at least consider it. Morneau this year gives me hope for Mauer.

It bounced over the head of the left fielder and rolled all the way into half way between the foul line and straight dead left, the centerfielder wasn't backing up, and ran over to try to recover, but it was too late

Right field, not left... No one caught my boo boo?

$%^ Trevor.

lol, I know he doesnt deserve it with his performance but he still gets on base at an ok rate & that would limit his GDP's.

Plouffe 2014, RISP:

.282/.386/.338/.704

How familiar are you all with the stats on baseball reference?

When you look at the splits page, there is a line called RISP and then a line under it titled "....."

Anybody know what the difference is? The second line always seems to be a fair amount lower than the 1st.

I wouldn't do it for a PTBNL. I also think it's too early to trade either guy.

That's solid. Definitely better than previous years if I remember right.

He could have 85-100 RBI this year. The doubles rate increase and having Dozier batting in front of him has attributed greatly to his RBI increase.

Batista could man right field for us.
This is from the BYTO days, but once upon a time I advocated the Twins trading with the Pirates for Bautista. I thought he would be a pretty good platoon guy who could play a lot of positions.

That was only a comment on that AB.

Think about this, last year after 62 games we were 29-33. If they lose tonight they will be 29-33.

Different year, different team, better feel - 10 fold.

The 2014 Twins are a better club than 2013.

2013 'peaked' there after a hot streak. Hopefully 2014 is bottoming out there after a cold streak. That sad, it's a tad depressing.

But, but, but according to Perkins it's a better quality 29-33:

"It's exciting, because the last few years, even last year, our record was similar but the results last year didn't match the process," said Twins closer Glen Perkins. "The results are matching the process a little more this year. If anything, I think we could be a little better than we are. . . .
