Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Late to the party, but a couple thoughts on bottom nine: 1. The 0-2 pitches to Reyes were godawful. Luckily Reyes fouled the first one off, the second was even worse. 2. I hate the Twins playing their off field outfielders so deep. They do that way too much, IMO.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Took Matty G out too soon. Thanks. That'll help me forget about wondering why the best reliever was on the bench after pitching one meaningless inning in the last five days:angry:. As a side note, would it be fair to say that Guerrier is leading all veteran Twins in output/TD expectation ratio? Nice to see Morales get a hit. It will be interesting to see the ripple effect if he hits well and becomes the everyday DH until the trade deadline deal. Sorry, couldn't resist the last part.

Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Glad the Twins made a comeback. Wish they hadn't grounded into a DP with the bases loaded in the 8th? 7th?

They do that way too much, IMO.That has been true to some extent going way back to the Puckett era. Balls hit hard enough to reach the track either have the hang time that you can reach them from pretty far in, or are LD rockets that are trouble unless hit right at the fielder. Meanwhile, any slap hitter can plop a ball in medium shallow L/C/R that's uncatchable for even the rangiest fielder while playing deep.

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 They must have kicked it around, tripped over it, then had a Manny Ramirez-like cutoff.Indeed, Bautista had a soft liner bounce over his head and roll to the wall

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 He dove for that one, no?I don't recall, he had a couple misplays that were pretty similar, one was a slide the other was the spongy turf, I think... Youre probably right
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 People turn computers off still? Well, you know what a computer is. There are probably some youngsters who would need that explained by an old-timer: "It's like a tablet device, bike-chained to a microwave oven full of complicated stuff". Candidate for new expression of ultimate disgust: "Almost Frisbee'd my iPad".
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 He dove for that one, no? Yeah, there's already a few images posted of him going for it. None that show the resultant explosion yet, though... http://media0.giphy.com/media/T7HXXwrcZ9IHu/200_s.gif
