Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Thank God you weren't Sam Houston after the Alamo Richard Boone had a fine career.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Burton in? That's OK Gardy, we didn't really want to win...
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Richard Boone had a fine career. Yep, he was a man, a big man.
Reider Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Yeah... Of Course... I don't know how you do it in Canada but... That's an obvious thing. We live in igloos and engage in snowball fights to sort out our differences.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Do we really want to put Burton in now? Fien just pitched 3 days ago, and Duensing/Thielbar 2 days ago. Clearly, all unavailable. AND tomorrow they go back to ONLY 12 pitchers!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Why would we want a bad fireballing relief pitcher from the Orioles again?Because... last name rhymed with Slowey?http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Film/Pix/pictures/2010/2/17/1266428474968/The-Madness-of-King-Georg-001.jpg
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Richard Boone had a fine career. So did Pat and Debbie Boone
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 OK, Burton probably gives up a big fly before I finish this post, but I'll say it anyway. Last year, the Twins would have almost certainly lost a tie game going into the bottom of the seventh in Cleveland. This year, I like their chances. Cleveland doesn't have much offense and the Twins have a few guys that can produce runs, even though a number of them are scuffling. Tough break for Plouffe on his last AB BTW.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Gardy doin' some managin'. None of us know what we're talking about.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I stand corrected! Burton actually was pretty effective
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 So did Pat and Debbie Boone True. But neither of them played Sam Houston, or Smaug for that matter.

ScottyB Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I appologize to Burton. He did okay. Just don't press our luck and let him pitch another inning. PS Don't put Duensing in either.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 We live in igloos and engage in snowball fights to sort out our differences. Thats why you have two teams named "Roughriders" in an 9 team league. I know Ottawa changed but I had to pretend they haven't to continue on my chosen path.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Thank God you weren't Sam Houston after the AlamoAnd I get that reference only because there was no remote for the buttonless TV in my hotel room, and it was set to, what else, The Alamo. Billy Bob Crystal was hilarious and menacing.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 True. But neither of them played Sam Houston, or Smaug for that matter. Yeah but Richard Boone never Sang "You Light Up My Life"

Reider Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I agree with Jack Morris... the Twins seem to be able to stay in / get back into ball games better this year than the last three years.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Yeah but Richard Boone never Sang "You Light Up My Life" Like I said, a fine career.

I know Ottawa changed but I had to pretend they haven't to continue on my chosen path. What do separatist Canadian politics have to do with being a... male entertainer? Not a judgement, just a query. Also, depending on which soccer parent's twitter account you research it with, there may be a chance that one outfit is the the Roughriders, and the other is the Rough Riders. Also, depending on how negotiations with FX over marketing rights go, it seems possible that one of them may change their name to Rough Service.

Auto correct got me, he'll was supposed to be hell, and the whole thread was an inane commentary about broadcasters with the overarching theme that Morris is smart, just not interesting.
