Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Wait a Sec... Bautista is starting in CF... I bet the Jays wish they had a Bartlett now. What's a Bartlett? Some new model of hot tub or something?
TheDean Verified Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Wait a Sec... Bautista is starting in CF... Apparently he is "ready" for CF... in Minneapolishttp://instagram.com/p/m1Ca9OmmOS/
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Apparently he is "ready" for CF... in Minneapolishttp://instagram.com/p/m1Ca9OmmOS/ Is he actually going to wear that?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Does anyone know if the DH can hit for a player other than the pitcher?
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Does anyone know if the DH can hit for a player other than the pitcher? I believe he can hit for anyone.
TheDean Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Is he actually going to wear that? ...seems legit. Got me thinking, do the Blue Jays start their year mostly playing with the roof closed? If so, I suppose Target Field is colder than what they're used to in Toronto for a game.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 I'm typing this real small so Winnie doesn't catch me. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/about_mlb/rules_regulations.jsp No... The DH can only bat for the pitcher. Ash... They've stopped reading your stuff
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 No... The DH can only bat for the pitcher. Ash... They've stopped reading your stuff My bad. I could have sworn there have been a few rare occasions when the DH hit for a position player.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Ash... They've stopped reading your stuff Objection, your honor. The witness is making an assumption not in evidence.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Heading out to my garage to listen to the first part of the game, see you all in a while.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 My bad. I could have sworn there have been a few rare occasions when the DH hit for a position player. Its ok... Just tell Ash you've been reading his stuff.
Reider Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Plouffe has actually been playing pretty good defensively so far this year. I really have no complaints at all. I know there was one ball that got under his glove, but that's just a range thing and Florimon did his job and backed him up. I'm actually quite comfortable with the Twins infield at the moment.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Does anyone know if the DH can hit for a player other than the pitcher? Somewhere, in a nondescript apartment in Pasadena, steam is coming out of Sheldon Cooper's ears.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Ash... They've stopped reading your stuff When did they start? / edit - I go to cook a bit of dinner, come back and try to catch up, and find I'm scooped by the Chief yet again
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 For all the $*&% the umps get, that was a good call.

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Who, on our staff, throws a sidesplitter?Well played sir. Well played.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 What's for dinner? More importantly, what time should we show up? Sauteed some kale, baked some cod and fiddled around to make it a fish taco, poured a glass of wine. Will have some flan later for dessert. Voila, dinner Chez Ashbury, when the wife is out of town.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 1-0! (Now that's what i call a bellow!)
Reider Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I like the way Colabello crushes the ball off field!
70charger Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Colabello with another double. From my angle, two more feet and we've got a home run. A lot of people are indoors at this game.

ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 "That leadoff walk, ends up scoring, almost all the time." -- Rik Aalbert Blyleven I'm looking forward to hearing his paper on this subject at the SABR meeting in Houston.
