I'm pretty sure nearly every manager in the game does the same thing in that situation. Down two, 9th inning, zero outs with basically a 9th hitter at the plate. Really a no brainer to be honest.

1. I agree nearly every manager will do the same thing.

2. Conventional wisdom doesn't make it the correct decision.

3. I'm still fairly sure that going from 1st/2nd no out to 2nd/3rd one out makes it LESS likely that you'll score more than one run in an inning (although it makes it slightly more likely you'll score one run)

Replay is so stupid. They still don't get the calls right and it slows everything down. That was as clear as day.

It's hard to tell if the 3rd baseman's foot was on the bag, which is why the call probably stands.

You aren't factoring in that Hermann is a replacement level (or worse) hitter.
