Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Good luck to Breslow whether he gets another shot to pitch, or starts doing something else. He was certainly praised by this FO for his mentoring, so maybe he's a future pitching coach.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 I said this in the Breslow DFA thread, but I wonder if he'll go to med school? He mentioned that once as a possibility post-baseball, but think he meant that if his career ended sooner than it did.
BenB Provisional Member Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 There was an article in the City Pages a couple weeks ago about Breslow and it sounded like he might be interested in remaining in baseball in some capacity other than as a player. www.citypages.com/news/meet-craig-breslow...smartest-man-in-baseball/432334883

Yep. I definitely would not be opposed to seeing him return in a coaching/front office/scouting capacity.

But with each intervening year away from academics it gets more difficult to jump back in, especially something as demanding as med school. At age 36 it's certainly do-able but he'd have to totally want to do it.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 He'd be highly motivated to resume a medical career. http://articles.courant.com/2013-10-22/sports/hc-jacobs-column-1023-20131022_1_childhood-cancer-biopsy-red-sox
Rosterman Verified Member Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 He can afford to go back to school and pursue those dreams, although he also would be a nice on-field presence as a coach, I believe.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Med school would be a crazy grind for a guy his age. Props to him if he still has the stamina and focus at his age.
