  1. I think Lewis is still not 100%.... if not the team should rest him for a few weeks and let him start afresh....No sure a competitive 19 year old has enough long term wisdom to know when to shut it down for a little bit for the longer good. That's on the organization...investigate now and be confident he is healthy
  2. Again... all good points. But expectations are "far better" than better than average at FSL. And if "anyone who has seen him had a good feeling" the swing was a problem from day 1, it should have probably been addressed starting at or very near to.... Tom and Seth, you guys are great and know way more than me, so we'll just agree to disagree that Lewis's season is of no concern
  3. Different player every night.....that's the sign of a champion in any sport....
  4. Will also add that by all accounts he is a GREAT kid.....any my concern is only because I am really rooting for him to succeed for his own sake as well as the team
  5. Whoa! If he makes the All Star game with his current numbers, he is simply getting a pass as the former number 1 pick.... If he is promoted with his current numbers that is sending a very bad message to the other players in the organization. I agree that eventually he will figure things out, but I also think that transcendent players (which we all hope he will be) do not generally struggle to this extent and for this long at A. I personally think (hope) he is nursing an injury, and if so, the organization makes him sit out a few weeks to get healthy.
  6. ...and I misspelled Khaled....just to prove that I'm not one of those kids
  7. Small sample size....pitcher's league....Too much talent.....focusing on defense....and... ...when is it OK to express concern about Lewis again? (I was told it was too early last month, so I thought I'd try again)
  8. D.J Khalid's Hot Take: ...And anotha one! (thats for the kids on TD if there are any
  9. Agree 100% with all. Concern about the bullpen in the postseason will also cause the relatively young and inexperienced line up to press too hard which can oft lead to problems
  10. Yes Stewart was the #4 pick of his class. And yes he is unlikely to ever live up to that selection. But I find myself strangely impressed with his perseverance. If he can end up being a #4-7 pitcher with some control.....many high draft picks have ended up providing far less...... just sayin'
  11. I don't believe MiLB players should be heavily criticized. (That comes in the small print of the multi-million dollar contracts of the MLB Any adult that endures daily hours long bus rides chasing their dreams gets my respect. So, I'll just say that I congratulate De Jong for being one of the few baseball players nationally to make AAA and sincerely wish him well at his next stop...
  12. ....and Buck becoming a real MLB hitter this is actually (probably) the most important development of the year (luckily we have many more years of 'control' for him than Wes Johnson
  13. Um....Wow.....just WOW! The biggest problem for the Twins you ask?! At this rate, Wes Johnson is going to get hired away as an MLB manager elsewhere after only a year just to steal his pitching instruction. And I'm more serious than kidding. Good Lord. Learn fast boys....(oh, and what a wonderful 'problem' to have)
  14. Yes, small sample size and all, but Lewis is definitely struggling out of the gate. Nagging injury?
  15. Yeah, great line up but gonna be a lot of constant pressure if they have to put up 9 runs four of every five nights to win (a smile and a wink to you Berrios)
  16. La Tortu-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-g-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a!!!! A perfect superhero to win a long pennant race! He needs to play everyday. I totally respect the front office forward thinking....but don't overthink this one.
  17. Reckless AND Aggressive But let Buck be Buck (abbreviation of BBB for all future posts because I suspect this topic will come up...often)... For better or worse his principle value will likely always be his elite defense which is predicated on his aggressiveness. We've just got to ride the wave on this one, knowing it can (and will) crash at some point. P.S but have a very clear back up plan in CF, which we do in Kepler and Cave P.P.S and no I don't think he is going to have a 10-15 year career of 140-160 games. But boy will be fun to watch until the wheels fall off
  18. Astudillo!!!!! Astudillo!!!! Astudillo!!!! I have not been as fired up about a Twins player since Kirby Puckett who also played with A LOT of passion and could hit ANYTHING, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. Yes im not an expert, but ill continue to play one on message boards, and yes this is a small sample size, but the eye test says we have something special here! DAMN HE IS FUN TO WATCH
  19. Berrios becoming a legit ACE would be a game changer, because then we could actually have a chance to be relevant in he playoffs if we make it. So excited....so hopeful
  20. If you think my skepticsm is revisionist history, check my post a week ago when I said he'd be out at least a month and likely longer when they were peddling the story about being back in a few days.
  21. This episode adds to a now extensive body of evidence that at very least, Sano has terrible judgement which is a huge problem in and of itself. As for this story: The chances that we are getting a full and accurate story: None. The number of you that would wager any significant amount of money that we are receiving an accurate story: none If you don't believe me, feel free to slip down any stairs of your choosing barefoot or not 1,000 times and see if you can manage a cut that required 12 STITCHES (that is a lot). Now a cut from broken glass celebrating barefoot at another location? Yes that would make sense
  22. Speculation alert (but feeling pretty confident about said speculation) 1. This injury has always been a much bigger deal than initially reported because of the location (as stated earlier) 2. The lack of a clear and consistent "story" (when Sano himself could have already provided a detailed account about how it happened on the record if it was so innocent and simple) and the delay in adequate care all strongly suggest that Sano and his people are less than excited about getting into details surrounding the accident. The Twins organization, who was caught off guard by the whole debacle, would also very much like to gloss over the situation. 3. This is yet another chapter in the increasingly frustrating narrative of Sano. (I would officially be shorting the market on him going forward at this point) 4. He will not be on the opening day 25 man and there is a good possibility that he will miss at least a month--if not more--- of the regular season.
