  1. I just wanted to toss out an additional theory for why he was struggling to put his cloths on: His wife bought him a pair of skinny jeans to be more hip and they were hard to put on because he had gained a few....
  2. Didn't mean to sell things short...I forgot the AAA smorgasbord strategy to augment the dumpster diving....
  3. No worries....O'Rourke to the rescue! Dumpster diving is what happens when you poorly construct your bullpen in the off season;.... ....and wait until the last minute to try to obtain reinforcements at the deadline ....and fail to see alarm signs and/or work a physical into the terms of a trade... ....and not fully appreciate how dire the need is for another #3 starter or better .... and overall think that you were not going to have to pay a premium at the trade deadline in an age when there are FOUR MLB wildcards to chase and and only one early trade deadline. None of the above should be surprising and the disaster was anticipated in advance by numerous people on TD. I actually think we have a GOOD FO, but they are young, a bit overconfident, and far too attached to their prospects. I suspect this season will end up being a painful but excellent learning experience for them and I expect fast adjustments in the upcoming year. They will improve and the Twins will improve...but as for this season....buckle up buttercups...
  4. Um...we just signed O'Rourke....are anxiously awaiting a 20 year old savior and are constantly rotating from the AAA smorgasbord.... So, uh, one equally as reasonable perspective is that things are getting a bit desperate due to poor pitching planning which hearkens back all the way to last winter
  5. Yes, great article..... We need him soooooooooooooooooo much in the playoffs.... He is really the wild card that could trigger an upset by covering some of our pitching deficiencies. ....and more under the radar.....get hot at the plate and take advantage when pitchers may have a lapse in concentration with him after dealing with the rest of the monster line up!
  6. Though my problem with Sano also had to do with plate approach more than numbers....
  7. To be clear though, I'm also in the group that "trumpeted early" that Sano was on the brink of oblivion about a month before that
  8. This is a surprising and wonderful problem to have. Arreaz is the real deal and he should and will get the majority of AB going forward. Those of us that trumpeted this early did so not because of his numbers (but it's a small sample size...but its a small sample size!), but because of his approach at the plate....and low and behold...he has remained successful.
  9. Dear Twins FO, We agree with this article! Pineda is a formidable game 2 playoff pitcher! You guys nailed it! Soooo worried.... Love Always, The Astro and Yankee FO
  10. Um, I like Minor's number of innings pitched and K rate. K rates are important in the playoffs especially. Have to miss bats there with the talent involved. Minor was essential to add if we were serious..... It turns out the Twins FO were serious...just about kind-of-contending so we could fill seats and make money for the next 5 years....a-la-the 2000s
  11. Post trade deadline Twins Slogan contest! 1. "Expectation Management!" 2. "No Deficit....or Lead is too large!" 3. "Our third starter is better than Les Straker in 1987!"
  12. Dear Twins FO, Congrats on Dyson boys! You were so wise to hold on to all of your high level prospects and avoid starting pitchers like Stroman because the Mets paid such an ASTROnomical cost. And ANY cost for Minor would have been too high! And your starting playoff rotation....it weakens our knees just thinking about it... Enjoy those 3 playoff participation ribbons you will earn over the next 5 years while you hoard prospects! Love, Houston FO PS. We were so impressed by you guys we had to post this in two different places to make sure you saw it!

  14. Tick Tock FO..... Are we going to hoard assets to be a one (insert game or series) and out playoff team 3-4 times over the next 7-8 years or are we going to sacrifice some extended above average-ness for taking a WS shot! Business answer is probably the former....Baseball fan answer is probably the latter. Will be fun to find out if money or desire for history wins out!
  15. This trade was gold for TD... best natural click bait ever....
  16. I continue to agree with Law's assessment of Lewis unfortunately... I'm not at all convinced that whatever his underlying problem is (probably his swing)...has been fixed. This seems to be rushed with a sprinkle of wishful thinking...
  17. Buck is Back! The biggest news! Don't have the exact numbers, but with Buck over the past 2 years winning percent far above 0.500; and without Buck well below. If you don't believe me that his return is by far the most important thing to happen to the Twins this week.... just ask their pitchers
  18. Dear Twins Front Office, Some of these TD posters are crazy!!! Your bullpen is GREAT! If anything, it is your lineup's fault. You keep doing you....Don't change a thing....We are ALL in agreement (and how often does THAT happen) so how could we be wrong?! Love, The Yankees, Astros, Red Sox and Indians Front Offices
  19. This bullpen is running on fumes.....It is highly unlikely that Rogers is going to make it through the season as the only high leverage guy.... If the bullpen was solid, presumably the FO would not have just sold two relievers to the highest bidder over the last 3 days. Unfortunately the timing is curious because now we go into trade negotiations looking even more desperate (which we are) which is obviously not the way to go into negotiations in any business.
  20. Anybody else feel like there is a Twins reliever telethon going on right now with proceeds (cash considerations) going to the Pohlad's net worth.... ....MLB teams...call now....it's a worthy cause!
  21. Oh and the problem with waiting even this long is that we now will appear desperate (because we are) and teams will leverage this in negotiations. Would have been better to act earlier from a position of less apparent desperation.
  22. Would have rather of had an Acala to the bullpen experiment this year than Romero to the bullpen.....Not saying that I know either would have worked better....but would have rather seen it.
  23. and if there is not decisive enough moves to upgrade, I suggest that the MN folks enjoy the rest of the season from the comfort of their house on the radio or TV to send the owners a message that more is expected....
  24. The rotating through AAAA players in the bullpen may work for a little bit but not through 162 games, and MOST CERTAINLY not through a playoff series against an elite team. The simple question is: Does the FO care? There is still a lot of money to be made with a tight division race with a decisive first round playoff loss...... Crunch time boys.... the next 10 games before the deadline matter....no need to wait....Overpay and get some help (a trade should sting a little bit on both sides)
